CUT IT !!!

:D

literally !!

just cut the hole at the bottom larger. with a hacksaw or whatever u have handy.

You will need to un-bolt the airbox from the car. maybe 3 bolts around the edges. So u disconnect the outlet and inlet pipes, unbolt the box, cut it to the desired size, maybe sand the edges if u want them nice and smooth, and put it all back together.

i thought so !

go to a hardware store and have a look arnd. u should be able to find some thick rubber joiners that will fit onto the end of ur pipe. i remember seeing some that had a wide lip on one and that should work just great.

Jynx has posted pix on the final result before...

Basically read the instructions on a fibreglass kit on

"How to use the fibreglass kit"

(note: if Jynx can use it....... say no more!)

And attach ag pipe to the hole you have made in the bottom of your airbox.....

Most of the guys used a dremmel to cut the hole in a nice round shape.

100mm ag pipe
100mm hole

Hold them together

Use Fibreglass to join them

VIOLA!!!!!!!!

Jynx used a stunning Purple colour

A lot of people have found that the ag pipe will sit in position in the airbox hole without too much fuss.

Speak to Andy / ABC because I know he did his recently.....

I don't know of anyone else that has done theirs in the meantime.

Otherwise, go back through some of the forum threads and read about CAI Days in the cruises sections. They will cover most of your questions.

Cheers and good luck!!!

Goto the hardware store and buy a small bit of pvc which will fit the ag line snugly. Fibreglass that into the airbox and then the agline just slides in and out. Dont fibreglass the agline to the airbox as you will never be able to remove it easily.

The airbox on the V6 has a larger hole in the bottom than on the 4 and the ag line that we used fit just snugly around the outside of the hole anyway so I didn't have to do any hacking or fibreglassing. I just cut the end of the Ag line to fit over and around and then used a cable tie around it to hold it on. Its a bit dodgy and leaks a bit but I'm thinking of making a full fibreglass custom tube in the summertime anyway.

Just get a fibreglassing kit from ur local hardware store. Probably about $20-30
