Personally I like manuals, but if you're asking whether owning a BA is a car worth owning, well for me it satisfies the looks (i find it hard to find a car which is not too expensive that looks nice), the performance (degrees of which can be increased by modification - relatively not too costly either) and convenience of being a 5 door hatch (which some of my friends mistake as a coupe and wait at the passenger doors until they realise there are rear doors).

My opinions is a little biased (towards BA's) and i've got the modifying bug at the moment which is adding up to quite a bit, so be warned about that, or if you keep it stock make sure you're not buying out of convenience (being around the corner and all) and wait till you're sure that the interior quality/paint and nrma checks out the engine/other components as best you can before you buy.

Dunno what to comment on the price, compare on drive.com.au year and kilometers and check out the quality of the above mentioned stuff and work out if youre getting a bargain. Interior was something really important to me. Paint is too easily chipped to care as much about.
