Refer to the factory manuals I sent you last night. The O.S. engines are generally tuned by winding the needle in fully closed and then coming out 1,3/4 turns with 1/4, and then 1/8th turns of the needles from there until you are happy with the tune. Idle adjustment should be pretty easy... Takes a bit of farting aroud the first time, and then they are also VERY sensitive to temperature, humidity and altitude. :)

i got it going and idoling while not rolling forward so i take mit that this is a step in the right direction, the carby operation is a bit stiff a times so im going to suss that out and then tune it tomorrow, ill keep ya posted....chers
EDIT: what do i do with all the other screws at start up?

If it's not been f&^%ked with before try to avoid the other screws. Most of these engines need their idle speed (throttle stop) and idle mixture (needle) vavle set and tuned fairly often to suit fuel/weather/karma, but the rest for mid/high speed should be right from the factory. The assumption is that with the base level right the needs at higher RPMs/loads will be the same proportion above the low-speed settings..

Wait 'til you get to tuning the cam on the 2speed! You don't want it to be revving too high when it engages 2nd gear either. Otherwise you get wheelspin, and a 'tweaked' chassis (in the bad sense) will tend to just spin out and lose control on the gear change... Also changing gear at lower revs helps the centrifugal cam and 2nd gear last longer by not wearing out. :)

bit char-g's are awesome fun!!!!!!!
We have tons of them from tanks and hummers to skylines and porsches.
Fun to chase the cats with too *evil grin*
We also run mini-z's (1:27 scale)
I have a skyline and a 4x4 monster truck.
Recently we have got our hands on some r/c helicopters.
From now on, at any cruises or meets, we should all bring our r/c gear :D
