2. Now i know u guys have been asked this a thousand times... But can anyone give me specific information on setting up CAI on my model Astina. Its got the popup headlights. I dont know what model it is. B??? Do need to take off the front bar? What exactly do i do???

If possible can uz get bak to me asap because i was hoping to get this done this week b4 i get my new clutch.

Hey,

Your model is the Bg Astina, with the pop up headlights.

1. clutch kit.best idea is to speak to a clutch specialist, or even do a search of the forums for more info.a stronger clutch will take more of a beating, but pedal effort will increase.actually cosmo dude gave me some well heeled advice on the sunday meet, maybe send him a post, or a PM.

2.cold air intake.

CAI for our models has been told a few times, and can have a variety of answers.

Probly best to follow some of the topics in the performance forum as they are pretty good guide lines.
first choose a pod, one that suits your budget and will be a marked improvement for the money spent[K&N or Unifilter.com.au] .

then have a look under the bonnet with the airbox out and decide where to plumb the piping .

I did mine without doing the front bumper removal, but from what i can see this isnt too hard, just takes alot of time.

search the forums for more info.there is a stack of stuff there.

I'd probably just go for a standard clutch unless you're planning on seriously increasing power (turbo) or putting the car under serious load (strip/track/tow).

Another 2c in the jar

yeah i agree with abc unless your going to or already have turbo or put your engine under alot of stress like towing or serious regular racing its not realy woth the extra money.

i disagree. i had a heavy duty clutch put into mine when non-turbo as i'd always found the standard one a bit soft. Was barely an increase in pedal presure, and was only slightly more expensive.

What about a button clutch or a Feather-button clutch (I think thats what it is called.)

I wouldn't go a button for a standard astina - they make the clutch on/off with little slippage. Only if you're turbo/highpowered, really. Even BigMal doesnt have one - he's got a HD organic Daiken Clutch with a HD pressure plate, and that works fine for him

I have the Daiken H/D straped to the 4.5kg steel flywheel on the Cosmo. It's enough to handle in the wet without going too far.
