whats the maximum and minimum offset for a BA hatch. is there a difference between the 4 stud and 5 studs offset?

there is no max or min, all depends on wheel width.

but somewhere between +40mm to +45mm should work.

Your clearance to the struts and brake calipers should be fine with that setup. However, you will increase your track by nearly 40mm on each side (nearly 80 total). In Queensland, you are only allowed in increase your track by 25mm and I'm pretty sure that 25mm is combined (both sides).

[QUOTE=Rupewrecht;145436]+35 on a 7" wide rims is Mazdaspeed fitment for BA.QUOTE]my new buddyclub rims are same as above.

i currently have 7.5" wide with +42mm offset.
so new ones will be 1mm extra on outside and 13mm less on inside. :D

BA/BF Falcon wheels fit 5-stud cars ;) They're 35mm offset, and 7" or 8" depending the model you've ripped them off..

Engineer can certify a 50mm increase (2") in width of wheel over the widest factory fitted - as per tyre placard - or you can go a max of 7" legally (widest wheel on a BA was a 6" IIRC).

So it is possible to wear 18x8 or 19x8 wheels (with appropriate rubber) legally - if you have a 5-stud car. Mazdaspeed do a nice 19" with 35mm offset :)
