When I turned my engine on this morning, I smelt a smokey smell coming from my car. Lifted my bonnet up and there was smoke coming out of the engine (well somewhere from the engine) and it was one of those burning smells.....i turned the engine off and the smoke was still coming out for at least 5-10 minutes. I looked under the car and noticed that oil had been leaking.
Can anyone explain what this might be. I had engine rocker covers replaced and a cat-back exhaust fitted last week. Could it be because of this?

Rocker covers replaced?

How long after you started the car was the smoke coming out? Time enough to get nice and warm? Was the smoke blue and smelly?

Sounds like oil leaking out of the rocker covers onto some nice warm exhaust to me. Probably behind the rear bank too just to make it nice and easy to get to.

Where abouts was the smoke coming from in the engine bay? If the car is cold now might be a good time to have a bit of a sticky beak around and see what you can see. Sounds like it should be fairly easy to spot something like that.

Sorry I can't be more help.

How does the exhaust go by the way? Any pictures? :D
