Well he must be someone has lifted a pic of his(taken by me) for use in their eBay ad.

I do wonder if their car would really have as good paint - considering Stinky has been repainted once in his life and before those pics were taken had over 8 hours of polish and finishing work done..

For your giggle value...

MX5 = 4 stud like Astina..
Stinky = Oringinally 4 stud like Astina & MX5
Stinky wore the stock MX5 wheels for a bit until easter...
Since the 5 stud conversion in March Sticky has had SP20 wheels as a temporary measure.

RX8 wheels are 55mm offset like all current model Mazda wheels and Stinky needs a 35mm offset to fit over his brakes properly plus, the wheels sit "in" too much making look and drive a little odd.

I didn't know that Stinky had ABS and Airbags

Aaron

Yup - the KJ Lynx was the first BA type platform to have all that as standard fitment.

He's got ABS, Driver and Passenger AirBags all of which was an extra cost option on the BA's until well into the 3rd series...

You did pay $35999 + ORC + $XX00 for A/C to get more standard stuff though....

The only option Ford Australia didn't tick (or if they did they never mentioned it) is factory fitted LSD - which was available on the Ford Laser GTX (Lynx) in Japan...

i don't think they were $35999 new +on road and extras etc! thats insane. thats a pretty big increase from the KH 4wd tx3 which was only $30000 or something new, considering the lynx wasn't turbo. i wonder what drive.com.au says a 1996 lynx was new.

Redbook says:

"Price when new (RRP) $32,119" for a KJ Lynx Hatchback 3dr Man 5sp 1.8i

haha typical, redbook and drive differ. generally redbook is less than drive though

FORD LASER LYNX KJ
3D HATCHBACK, 1996, 1.8 lt, 5 SP MANUAL
Average km's travelled 163,000
Price when new $28840

imo they were nicer cars than the tx3's anyway, shame they weren't turbo optioned in aus

I might have given the A/C inc price - the A/C was some form of extortion about $2K or more...

Either way it matters little - the car was way overpriced... No wonder only 1250 were imported and sold.
