Overheating or not?!

Hey everyone,

I recently bought a BG (single cam) and I dont know if it is a problem or not but on even the shortest of trips, the temp guage goes up to the half-way mark. Is this normal or is there something behind it? (Thermostat or some ****?).........

As far as i know, half way is the right temperature ur lookin at. I think ur only in trouble if it's almost topping out, or more specifically higher than 2/3 or somethin?? mmmm toasty varm :twisted:

It had a cracked radiator hose (top) when I got it and on 10min+ trips it would top out over the red square :shock: . So I replaced that and now it steadies at half way. Thanks Smikey, anyone else experienced this?

One other thing, is it easy to change the idle revs (if you know what I mean?)?

Hey,

On my BG 'stina, the temp guage always hovers around the halfway mark.
it has only ever gone up when i took it to the beach in summer on a 36' day.
even then it was minimal.

Turbo motor, no aircon, whatever outside temp the needle never gets
over half always sits just under. I do have a triple core radiator but was
the same pre turbo with stock radiator.

yea dude, Iv got the BG sohc and Iv never seen the temp gauge go past the 1/2 way mark
