I just got a set of the NGK Iridium sparkies for my 2002 SP20. The guy told me that the Iridiums come standard with about 1.5mm gap, but it needs to be adjusted to suit my car. Does anyone know what the Gap would need to be for the SP20?.

Also i would appreciate if someone could explain to me how the whole system works. For example, what does the ignition leads do, what the spark plugs do, etc, etc.

Thanks.

From what ive heard man the irridiumIX plugs arnt meant to be adjusted cause of how fine the electrode is
It can be damaged really easily, they should of came pre gapped to suit your car to start with,if not then they gave you the wrong 1's

i recently bought iridium plugs too. I was told very clearly not to adjust the gap. so maybe go back and get them to check their books to see what the 2002 sp20 is supposed to have.

The guy that told me to adjust the gap was the guy that I bought my Magnecor ignition cables from. Obviously he doesn't know what he is talking about, because after thinking about it the Iridium plugs I bought were specifically for the SP20. This would mean that the plug would already be adjusted to suit the Sp20, otherwise it wouldn't have a part number specifically for the SP20.

Thanks for everyone’s help though.
