so.. i have pretty much had the longest day in the world..
begin rant..
it began when my mother (yes im young.. well 19..) woke me up at 8:00 to go service my car...
so i drove up to my local mechanic..
handed over the keys and set off to organise to drive my mums liberty.. and dont get me wrong.. its a nice car. 4wd.. leather seats.. but apart from being automatic.. it just isnt an astina..
the mechanic told me i should have a budget of around $90 for the service as it was only a minor service.. the day was going quite nicely until i recieved a phone call while at miranda at about 12:00.. and before i answered i knew something was wrong (as the car was supposed to be ready by 10).
the mechanic that had done my last service hadn't replaced one bolt on each of the calipers..
now..
i know it could be worse.. but still.. they argued the point that me being a young teenager i must have fiddled with the brakes causing all 4 bolts to fall off..
i huffed and puffed in anger and got on with my day..
until.. i recieved another phone call saying that both of my cv joints were buggered.. (or at least the boots).
at this point i was rather angry and i was imagining the price they were going charge me for...
2 x cv joints and boots
4 x calliper and disc kits.
aswell as the regular service which was supposed to be about $90.
anyways.. being the little prick i am. i rang my father.. (who is pretty much a nerd at life) and he somehow managed to get them to admit fault for the callipers almost disintegrating. i think it had something to do with the records showing they were the last people to touch my brakes in my service log book.
i understood the CV joints were possibly just wear and tear (and due to too many mountain climbing expiditions) so i wasnt fussed about that.. it was the fact they tried to tell me that i had to pay for 4 complete discs because i had fiddled with them..
anyways..
they called me again to tell me my car would be ready by 4:30.. which i was happy with..atleast i could drive tonight and tomorrow..
so come 4:30 i got in the liberty and drove.
when i got there.. not only were both of my front wheels still lying on the ground.. but the mechanic working on it was sitting outside scratching his head..
they ordered the wrong parts.. or atleast they were delivered the wrong parts..
so she is still sitting on a lift.. without her wheels..
rant over...
im just glad that noone was hurt (due to both; my frustration and the lack of bolts holding the calipers on)
so $375 and one sleep later i will hopefully get her back:(
i hope she sleeps well
