DMS 50mm Adjustable Shock Absorber

DMS first designed and manufactured the 50mm suspension system in 1990. Testing and tuning has continued and now has produced DMS's most successful product - the two-way adjustable damping shock absorber. This adjustable shock absorber has been used in production car motor sports.

This DMS high performance 50mm shock absorber has one of the largest pistons available in a shock absorber in the world. This gives superior control, more precise tuning due to larger displacement and pressure areas and precise adjustment on bump and rebound independently.

The larger the piston area the lower the internal operating pressures and temperatures. This provides higher damping capabilities which are necessary in severe rally or race competition. Compared to conventional shock absorbers the DMS Giant 50mm has over 200% improved accuracy and control.

Product Description:

- DMS blue shell case. Made of chrome-moly high strength steel. Threaded and Fitted with screw- adjustable anodised aluminium spring seat and lock nut.

- Competition specification mounting brackets with adjustable camber system fitted to the bracket.

- 50mm shock absorber system with high flow competition design piston with defined adjustable bump and rebound settings. DMS only uses special formulated racing shock absorber fluid.

Have run a tarmac S15 with DMS suspension, and LWR (Les Walkden Rallying) exculsively use DMS suspension, you will find that they are always at the front of the field in Tarmac and on dirt.

I don't think you can go wrong with DMS, your next step from them is really the $25k+ Pro Flex and Reiger shocks which are probably more than most ppls cars are worth.

DMS is proper high quality stuff. Its a good step up from bilsteins.

Japanese ohlins are actually pretty ordinary and very different to the european made ohlins. Aragosta's are very good but they are just euro bilsteins with a different name and in a gold colour. DMS is a step above both of these.

Hi mate,

Yep DMS have got all 3 level of shocks to suit BG.

40mm Street/Track - $3188 per car set including springs, freight and GST.
50mm Track/Rally - $4763 per car set including springs, freight and GST.
60mm Extreme Motorsport - $9614 per car set including springs, freight and GST.

40mm has a single combined bump/rebound adjustment. 50mm is separate bump/rebound adjustment. 60mm is 3, 4 or 5 way adjustable, with remote canisters.

Even the entry level 40mm will make any other off the shelf coilovers kit (be it K Sport, D2, Tein etc.) look stupid. The 40mm would be the equivalent to a Bilstein PSS9 coilover.

If your budget isn't quite DMS, and performance is your main concern, then get a Koni/Kings package. I'll have to check on pricing on the 4th when everyone re-opens, but it'd be $1300-$1500 at a guess...

If performance is of absolutely no concern what so ever, and low, stiff and fully sik is what you're after, then grab something like a D2/KSport/G4 etc....

Any other questions or dramas just let me know!

Regards,
Greg

Hi mate,

As per that other post, freight is a killer. Allow $330 freight for KYB/Koni...

Greg
