this is another story that involves low life b@stards breaking into cars...

i parked my car outside a friends house on friday night and stayed the night...

next morning at bout midday, i come outside to find my drivers door and rear drivers side door unlocked. looked inside and saw that the console and glove box is hanging open with stuff thrown onto the seat. i had a look around and couldnt think of anything that was missing at the time...stereo was still there along with my other personal items but that night realised that a bag was missing (had a jacket and a few new shirts in it)

i am thankful that they didnt take any more than the bag and a few things but am still very wary about what i leave lying around in the car...

so this has given me a bit of a wake up call as to how easily my car can be stolen..ive been thinking of installing an alarm and thatll be $200-$300. dont have insurance being a low income student/drafter and i thought that maybe just having the alarm might be enough to scare people away from breaking in or if they do, the alarm going off will scare them..

what luck has other guys here with bgs had with alarms? any other suggestions thatll help the car being more secure?

Avoid leaving things visible in your car. Even with an alarm it takes seconds to grab a bag, sunglasses or a hand full of Cd's.
Years ago I would park in the same area as a colleague with a crappy old Telstar, his car was constantly being broken into because he left things on the seats, my car wasn't touched as I kept things out of sight.

mate if you install an alarm get a 2 sirens, one for under bonnet, one for interior. no one will hang around to strip the interior if you get a 105dB alarm in there
