Pictured bellow is a climate control/DVD/TV player from a Mazda Millenia.
I found it on the Japaneese auctions.

The switches on the right are climate control. Japan, from what I believe, transmits TV on different frequencies and I think there DVD region is different to ours.
Apart from that its only $125ish

yeah Japan does have different Tv frequencies and DVD region. You can get frequency adjustors for the tv, but unless the unit is region unlockable you're stuck with japanese dvds. I'll try to find out for you now
EDIT: No luck, I cant find any information on whether its unlockable.

just burn everything in zone 0 and you'll be fine. Stations is another issue, i didn't think it was $125 to fix the issue. At least it was much more than that in my mates soarer.

its $125 to get the unit. you do realise that most people don't want to reburn their dvd's as a different region, even if they knew how to 'backup' commercial dvd's.

i still think that you should do it because its different and cool and no one else here will have one.

Many moons ago when looking at soarers many had a TV but to change them over so you use them in Aus there was some conversion you needed done and it was not cheap, $600 comes to mind.

I don't think it'd suit the BA dash, well mine at least.
I posted it primarily as a curiosity, a bit of a distraction.
How did I find it? I was looking for something from a Millenia KL-ZE, I went into the japaneese auctions and searched in the parts area under TA5P which is the Millenia model code (TA3P is Miller engine).

I do realise that most people don't want to take a DVD they just payed $30 for and keep it in a car or scratch the sh!t out of it in a CD visor holder, so yeah, everyone i know with an in car DVD only keeps burned DVDs in it.
Me included.
cosmo ... the things you manage to randomly find continue to amaze me :p
