Just got back from a 3 day camp in Kangaroo Valley. Had to come straight to work (feel pretty buggered after cannoing for 15km). Thought i'd catch up on what's been happening in the world. Picked up the daily telegraph that was left here at work yesterday (saturday) and looking in the auto section... there was a small article on page 3 with the header. TV AD TOO RISKY. the little article went on to read that the ad for the SP20 which has been used for 12 months has now been modified because of a single complaint. The Advertising Standards Bureau said it was in breach of th voluntary code of conduct. The part in the ad that gut up the nose of someone was when it showed the SP20 cornering hard and then showing the fasten seatbelt light person (SUPERGIRLS AVATAR) moving left and right. The complaint was that s was risk taking behaviour.
This is one of the silliest things i've heard... i mite be alittle biased towards the mazda side of things and probably wouln't have cared if it happend to say holden or other manufactures.[/color:post_uid8]

To the person that made the complaint (not anybody here of course): Get a Fuken life looser. Sell the SR20 and get a REAL 2 litre.
To the ad people: Bunch of wankers.[/color:post_uid0]

Yeh, it's bulls@#t really. Anyone want to complain about the Ford XR8 ute ad with all the Victorian cops following it. To me, it promotes government revenue raising. :D
Ridiculous.

Look mate, any car ad that features the car doing more then 50km/hr is just not on alright? The cops think anything over 50, your going to be slammed in their sick jail mate.
But seriously? Changed for 1 complaint? C'mon! This proves that society is taking itself too seriously.[/color:post_uid0]

We live in a capitalist democracy people. By law we have to vote, which makes us a democracy to an extent, but if you want to look at most democracies you will find that they are capitalist. It's not one or the other, especially here in Australia. The point of a democracy is that there's no monopoly or dictatorship, which means in politics and trade we have free enterprise, which means we are capitalist. Thanks to my girlfriend, who is at university majoring in history and politics.
Sandyman, back to school please.[/color:post_uid0]

I find it hard to believe some wanker would whinge about the SP ad, when you see two guys in a Ford XR8 wakeboarding on a dry salt lake @ 80ks +.[/color:post_uid0]

Yeah, well that's got a lot to do with the fact we all know how to avoid putting ourselves in situation where we can get ripped (well, most of the time anyway) :p :;):
Oh, and a few more ads involving speed:
Holden Astra ad where the cherry goes around the car. The speeds involved to actually perform that would be huge, and we see the car "flying" around a nice long left-hander at the end. That could induce people to try to do it in real life.
And the other one I can't remeber!!! :;):[/color:post_uid0]

Nah, that's not it, oohh, I remeber now. Somebody has actually complained about that Nissan Patrol add where it has the new and old models in a tug of war and the wheels are spinning. Some f@#ked up person complained because it showed the wheels spinning, they said it might encourage people to try a tug of war with their own cars or some such bull****. The ads commssion people told em to get f#@ked. God, some people have nothing better to do with their lives than bitch and complain about everything. F@#ken loosers.

VU Ute doing circle work in the wheat fields....I loved that ad, made me want to buy one. :D
And SS Commodore with the father setting up the kids toys in the driveway and weaving in between them...
@ Dan & Mike, sounds like fun.... You need someone to get video footage for you?? I'd be glad to film it! :D
