You need to get out more :p

Focus are 108. Very annoying, as there was a nice set of ST rims i looked at seriously until i found they were 4x108

BMW/Commodore are 5x120, some Lancers are 4x114.3, and early VW is 5x205!

4 x 98.....personally i cant see that being a problem so long as you do the nuts up very carefully at a even pace. anyone disagree???

not it wouldn't work. all studs, hubs and wheel holes are designed for little to no tolerance to allow no movement in where the wheels and hubs meet together. they do it for a thing they call safety. you wouldn't even get a 4x98 wheels on a 4x100 hub.

I can remember seeing BMW wheels (4x100) on a gemini, and same for Nissan Pulsar rims. I did have a link stating what every manufacturer had for wheel stud patterns, but have subsequently lost it :(. I can remember alfa's were 4x105 or something stupid!

Edit - Not really the best of links, but does give you an indication...

You may find these days wheel - PCD's are quite standard.

In that most Japanese 5 is 5X114.3 and most 4 is 4 X100 or 4 X 114.3.

5 X120 is a common one as well alot of GM is that.

Mazda did or have moslty used 5 X114.3 and 4X100.

You usually find the reason for some models having weird PCD's is because of Costs.

For example I know on model of Euro Ford they did it because they didn't want to go to a more expensive wheel bearing or change the PCD to allow the different bearing to be stronger.

Car makers don't always look at things like the aftermarket world. Or options.
They want you to buy there options.

It's like why is it some hub ring sizes are massive others small. So you need new hub ring carriers etc. It's crazy these days you can't win either way.

Plus off-set's have gone in totally different direction.

it's hard to find narrow wheels with RWD type offsets of 40mm or less.

Mostly because brakes are now bigger so they have to allow more clearance.
