Hi Everyone!
I just ordered a 2002 323 Astina, should get it by end of month! Can't wait!
Got a pretty good deal $20,500 for a manual on the road with powerpack. Its going to be my first baby.
I'm still undecided on colour though, I'm deciding between the Sunlight Silver, which is the light silver colour, and the Titanium Grey.
Whatcha peeps think?[/color:post_uid0]

anyway, if ur sure about those colours, disreegard this remark: black and yellow are the only suiting colours.

Yeah, I agree with Toyboy...when I ordered my car, I ordered the colour too...

Anyways, coming back from sorrento today, was cruising with a Titanium grey sp20... IMO, the best colour in the astina range.... easier to keep clean than my black beast!

Best of luck with the car mate...

Cheers,

Bill[/color:post_uid0]

Awesome!
Even the salesman said he prefers the Titanium...
I spose the silver is a lot more common on heaps of cars.

Although I've ordered the car, I had both of those colours put down, so I just have to get back to him when I've decided.

How come the new ones aren't as good as the older ones? I figured I picked a good time to buy, as the current models came out in June with 1.8 as standard. And before that the 1.6 was more expensive than what it is now! So I'm quite happy with it.

As for mods, although, I've got a lot of friends who are quite 'car savvy', I am just a beginner, so i have a lot to learn. Which is why i joined this site i spose. I'm not going to pour all my money into cars, just simple things. After hearing the sound system on the car, I def think that needs to go!

Also, I read a lot about these K&N air filters, does everyone here have one?[/color:post_uid0]

the performance and looks on the 94-97 was better than the current. thats what i think anyway.

Yeah i have to agree with ya sandyman, ive driven a SP20 and i was very disapointed with the power of the 2L motor, personally i think my 1.8L is quicker :p
And you cant beat the styling of the 94/98 323,ive had many people say that mine is heaps better then the current shape :D
I still like the current model, but i prefer mine :)[/color:post_uid0]

They look more like coupe's than hatchbacks IMO (the 94-98 ones). Looks sportier than it does now. :)[/color:post_uid0]

very true. it's be nice if they made the 94-97 in a coupe hey[/color:post_uid0]

Titanium of those 2 for sure, also better for contrast with nice rims.
The world is full of silver cars.

The 2L with a bit of "enhancement" is orright tho' :)

I like my Champagne Silver tho (see this month's feature car....*cough*)
The 2002 with 1.8litre standard has to be the bargain of the whole current new car range from anyone IMO.

Sandyman, they did do a Coupé for the Astina. Although it wasn't released in Australia. It looked very similar to the old Laser Lynx, without the round headlights at the front, instead a higher profile headlight similar to our Astinas. Check it out....

I agree with you Critter, the current shape has had a massive price cut, $19,990 [roughly, call it under $20k] for a 1.8LT Astina Manual. Compared to just under 30 large ones for the 94-98 1.8LT manual.

Even when the new shape came out it was initially priced at $24,490 or something like that..... weird.

yeah, i saw that. but i didn't think it counted. i'd have one though...

comments on the rx8: i was lookin at a few pics of it, and thought to myself "jesus, that looks so bloody much like an astina!"[/color:post_uid0]

I don't think I'd buy that 3 door astina, if I was going to buy a coupé I think I'd buy the Eunos 30X, or go bigger and get a 4WS MX-6. That 2.5LT 6 is a sweet engine.

:)
