fog lights

got pulled over tonight right after I left october fest. and the cop noticed I had the fog lights on and gave a me a warning. Just can;t see y i can;t have them on......y is it can anyone please explain????

I believe it is illegal to have them on in conditions which dont warrant it (NSW). Not 100%, check with either your local cop station or the local road authority.

In NSW can't have foggies on in clear conditions only when visibility is effected by rain, fog etc or you'll get defected. Driving lights can only be use in the same way as high beam... 200m from other drivers and not in residential areas. The cops excuse is that these lights are a distraction and/or dazzle other drivers (same excuse for neons).

thanks guys.....i still think it's a scam to raise their revenue. I abide the law most of the time but this "fog light" business drives me nuts.....so ..|.. cops
