Hi,
Does anybody make the Altezza style lights for the whole back of the BG Astina's, similar to those on the older CRX's. I haven't been able to find anyone that makes them
Thanks.
Havent been able to find any for the BG or BA. There are some for the BJ.

being a flat faced style of light you could better off buying a set from the wreckers and doing a custom job yourself :)

lol, so i'm presuming it's a touch time consuming eh?
You need to seperate the lens from the plastic body which most do in an oven. Then its just a case of building the lens assembly. Too much effort in my book - Ruprewrecht would be best to comment as he is building a set of altezza-style lights to suit his hardtop.

nah the ones i'm making arent Altezza-style. but you could make the hardtop rear lights very very easily into clear ones - as all the color inside the lights is a separate piece behind a clear outside casing
someone in norway made clear lights for the BG - look for a pale silvery blue BG with a kit

Yeah I want a set of altezza's for the BG too, buying a set from the wreckers and trying to make clear ones sounds like a good idea.

Hey there, 8)
In The Netherlands me and some other Astina freaks have made our own Crystal rearlights. It is very easy and fun to do. When you got 2 right hands and be a bit creative this will be goodlooking.
The pale sivery blue bg as Rupewrecht means in this topic: is that the car shown at this link??

When this is the one than i can tell that i`m the happy owner this is my car.
I try to find the link on our Dutch Mazda site about how to craete them yourselfs. Including al pictures step by step.

ThanX,
For the compliments. The color i used is the Y variant of the Alfa Romeo color "Azurro Nouvola" code AR414B. I have plenty of photo`s on my harddisk of the car in this jacket.........???!!
For those who want them, please sent me your e-mail adress. Or i can sendit to one of you who wants to place them on this forum?? Just let me know.
Yes a small kiss with a huge street licht last winter made my Astina look like a Banga racer. The bonnet, nose, pakfeifer bumper, radiator etc. all was damaged at once. Then i decided to make a complete makover again on the same car. He`s Lambourghini green now and wearing Toyota supra rearlights. And many more modifications have been made to the body.
I go and find some pictures online for you people.
See ya, Christian

Yes !!!
I`ve found the link to create your own "Cristals". This is to bad a Dutch site, so reading it will be hard for your people. But maybe you can have some at the pictures matching the describions. And if you need to know some more about materials and or something else you can always ask me.
there atre about 10 Mazda Astinas (323f called in europe) in the netherlands who are wearing this lights at the moment. Even here they beg for Altezzas. They are working in Austria to build the Altezzas for the Lantis. Thats whats been told in the magazines around.
Just check this out: http://www.home.zonnet.nl/g.vanderstappen/index.html
and hit left cornered "Project" and then hit the yellow text under the 9 pictures of the Astina.
Stil looking for the links with photo`s of my green Astina. I do have digital pictures but i don`thave my own site to place them......

I always thought that shaved (or filled) door handles would look awesome on the BG and I was RIGHT!, not really sure about the tails lights, but its great to go for somthing different. Thats the sort of ride hight im after, what size wheels are those and how much was it lowered?
How do you get the door open??

Dod the pop up lights still work with the others below them? If so, how close is the fit???
Also, I've been puzzeling for 2 days now, how do you open the doors?
sik astina
14-11-2003, 10:09 PM
The pop up lights would work the same, as the bottom lights are parkers and indicators. the doors got no idea. have seen some ppl have a little bit outside the door so when they pull on it the door opens or he has hooked up the mirrors so when u fold them back it opens or by remote and the door opens.

Yeah they open by remote, ive seen them on some of the new BMW's.
Christian, what other mods have you done to your car?
If you have put in a cold air intake or replaced your standard airbox with a pod filter, how did you do it?
The back of your car looks similar to an early 90's model Integra.
Top job btw!
SO if your battery goes flat your screwed.
LOL nice work.

You can jack the car and attach the jumpers to the starter. Had to do this with a VS Holden as the lock on the drivers door is attached to a switch that does not mechanicly unlock the door it sends a signal to the security system which trigers the locks etc etc etc.
I do not like this idea.

ThanX for your compliments,
Well the doors open by a button placed under the mirrors left and right. It`s a electrical system and very easy. it`s a kind of cilinder sliding up and down by powered by a magnetic field. Thete`s a nice site where you can get those goodies and more.
http://www.autolok.com/
When the battery is down there`s a positive wire hide away in the wheelcase left in front. So you can easy connect it to another car and jumpstart. And when even that wont pass, you can get in the car trough the trunk by using the Toyota key at the right rearlight unit.
The Mazda is lowered by 50 mm using a spring kit only from MAD. I`m saving money now for a air-ride system or a costom made kit. The rims are from Arbet type VIII 8J 16" wearing typhoon 205/40/16.
Now a days i`m working on my massive car-audio system. All parts are from the reference series of Pioneer. And all wires and conectors are rockford fosgate and a powercap 2F from Dietz. But more pictures will come soon
We`ll keep in touch,

Hai there,
Thanx for the compliments of my car fashion,
The make of the front bumper is Pakfeifer http://www.pakfeifer.at/mainenglish.htm
And the rest of the body parts are make of Postert http://www.postert.com/english/frames.html
Scroll downward and the Bg model will appear.
Maybe you can ask them to find the local dealer near you.
good luck, Christian de Jong
to do the clear tail light conversion would you need to retain some kind of reflector in the tail light ... ie so your parked car can be seen at night ??? (dont want any trouble from the law ;) )
Cosmo Dude
30-04-2004, 09:55 AM
Yes you will need some kind of reflector, for details of size, shape etc you could contact you local roads authority.
If you look at the Mazda 6 taillights the outer red circle is the brake/tail combo and the inside is all reflector. A little big but it suits the lamp assembly.

LOL nice work.
nah u use the solenoids in the doors with a remote to open them
and for insurance reasons u need a mechanical way of opening the door so most people put a door popper in the sills. it only sticks out a little bit and with aa lift or press can mechanically open the door if the battery is flat. easiest way when shaving ur handles
