Hi,
I'm new and I'm from germany.
I have a Mazda 323 F BA or too called Lantis.
I got the 1.84 (BP Motor) Modell, it's a great and beautiful car, but something I want to change. Saw japanese and australian Lantis with rear disc brakes on 1.84 and 2.0 V6 modell, nice nice!
So european 1.5 and 1.84 modell got on the rear axle drum brakes *arg*.

Got this alternatives:

Buy and import rear axle of Lantis from Japan oder Australia - very expensive

Take rear axle of MX-3 (V6) or 323 F Bg (Astina built 89-94) - cheap, but maybe some problems

I don't have much money and so I have to take the second alternative.

What I want to know, maybe You know it, is it possible, to fit the rear axle of MX-3 (V6) or 323 F Bg (Astina built 89-94) in my 323 F BA (Lantis with ABS)?

A good mazda mech offer me a rear axle of a MX-3 V6 with ABS, he only knows, that you can fit it on 323 F BG (Astina), but he doesn't know about fitting on 323 F BA (Lantis).

I asked Mazda germany, Mazda Japan, Mazda "Shops" (one offerd me, the change costs 2200$, too much for me), Friends etc. but nobody can give me relevant/important information.

Helpfully is, who can I ask?

Or can you give me information about your Lantis about:

1. Master cylinder
2. Proportioning valve
3. Calipers
4. Rotors
5. Emergency Brake Cable
6. Rear Spindles

And some more parts (I don't know all the words for it  )

Or can you send me scan from a technical manual.

All will helps me!

Greets from germany

Maybe you can help me otherwise.

On Your Lantis
Front Disc brakes (ventilated), I think so, must be the same as in european.

257mm x 22mm

And what's about your rear disc brakes (must be solid)?

I guess 251mm x 9mm
251 diameter
9mm thick

Is it right?

If it's really possible i'll get the rear axle tomorrow...

The rears are solid and the same size for the 1.8 and 2.0 V6 (V6 have five bolts).
The swap shouldn't be very difficult, the Australian 1.8 didn't have ABS but should have the place to bolt the sensor if you have ABS on your car.
