Hello everyone.
I am also new to the Astina forum.:) I am after some help with a 1992 BG 1.8 SP Astina. It is a top car. Very reliable, packed with features for its age, and with its DOHC can go like the clappers, ( its a red one too ). I have owned it for about 4 years, and when I bought it it only had 80,000 kms on the clock. It now has nearly 150,000 kms. It has a problem with stalling when coming to a stop, like coming to a red light, or roundabout. It seems to be worse when coming down a hill and costing with the power off.:(
It has a unusual problem in that, I can hear a relay of some sort behind or underneath the dash that will click on and off several times, quickly. And if I am stopping it will then stall out. Does anyone know what the relay is that clicks under the dash? And what is it for.
Anyway I have rambled on too much. They are fantastic cars and I don't want to sell it, they are icons!!!:D

Welcome to AGT!

Take some time to familiarise yourself with the AGT Rules (http://www.astinagt.com/forums/announcement.php?f=49), and enjoy your stay :)

Hi you guys.
Thanks for the welcome. The induction piping and TB etc has all been checked and cleaned. I took the car for a spin last night, and although my problem is stalling when slowing down, I found that coasting downhill at 60 km's also produced this relay clicking noise:cool: I think it might be the fuel pump relay, or the ecu main relay. Can anybody tell me what is the relay behind the radio in the centre dash area?
BTW this forum is very good, nice and relaxed.;) . i think I will put all this info on the engine forum. Sorry if I rambled on to much.
Cheers Bungy.

Hey dude, dont know if this will help you or not but I had a pretty similar problem where my car would stall when I tried to clutch and stop the car with a gear in. I didnt have a clicky noise though.

It turned out to be my clutch master cylinder, maybe get that checked out if you're out of ideas
