Nope, the Astinas were never relaeased in 2 door. Though some people mistake the BA for a 2 door and try to fold the front seat forward!

The closest thing to a 2 door Astina was:

the 323P - a 3 door Protege
[img:post_uid0]http://protegetech.com/323pspring.jpg[/img:post_uid0]

or the 323C (which we got as the Laser Lynx in Aus with different lights at the front)

Nice job TB. I'm still looking for the rubber, I know its got to have some tyres on it* :D

A.k.A Web masters (no-door openings visable) somewhere on this site....hmmmm Jelly Bean shape.... * *

Anyone keen enough to try a Cabriolet version on their computer too see the result, just hack off the roof and leave the rear spoiler. Just as summer bites the dust...

Oh, yeah, I thought wheels were suppsoed to have tyres on them for grip and stuff??? :p

it'd b good if modifying it 4 real was as easy as cutting and pasting on photoshop!!!

and those links to the jap 2 door astina has to be just a lynx with different badges. but the 2 door coupe astina looks tonnes better than that o/s version of the astina/lynx thing.

but most of all, them wheels r fine!!!!! what r they wearing rubber bands?!?!?!![/color:post_uid0]

well, you'e probably got about 75 at the wheels...thats what someone (not on here) got out of a stock astina.

but it wont be for a good while. i want to make sure that i run the engine in well before i start running insane amounts of boost...as i will :;):[/color:post_uid0]

well, engine is being built at the moment:

boring/stroking to 86x86 - so about 1.9-2.0L
forged pistons - ceramic/teflon coated
ported/polished head with (maybe with oversized valves)
shotpeened/lightened/knifedged GTX crank
probably a few other things that temporarily have escaped my mind.

custom billet gears in a strenghtened housing
and no, don't have a LSD[/color:post_uid0]

The problem with running the motor with 200kw is you got buckleys of getting any tracktion befor 3rd gear, which can be fun : ) but if you want to run that much power you should realy look at getting a limited slip diff, but that is only my opinion. I'am thinking 4wd for mine, but the tx3 have the ****est gearboxes and to get a dog box there about 3 grand, and thats money i don't want to spend ![/color:post_uid0]

Rupewrecht
21-03-2003, 01:33 AM
ah yeah, i realise ther'll be traction problems, but i'm not intending to run that much boost as a daily driver. i just want to know that the car is capable of it, i guess

and i'm thinking about an LSD, but further down the track. once the engine is sorted. and once i have some money again![/color:post_uid0]

TURBO MAZDA
21-03-2003, 02:21 AM
Yeah, I'am looking 4 an LSD now, but can't seam to find 1, there is another option of getting one made up but your looking at a couple grand 4 that 2. Also which gearbox are you running the 89 - 94 or the smaller 94 - 98 box, how much gears cost ya , if you don't mind me asking

What size turbo ???[/color:post_uid0]

21-03-2003, 02:41 AM
Don't you wish you had that power at the rear wheels?
200KW at the front would probably bounce you across the road & into a milkbar![/color:post_uid0]

well, i never had any trouble at all with torque steer in it's previous turbocharged incarnation, and the rest of my suspension is set up to handle the power...
