Oh No,

While playing with some more wiring tonight, I managed to blow the fuse for the interior lights. However even with the fused replaced they still arn't going???

Does anyone have any ideas? I'm a little worried that I may have done more damage than just the fuses???

Oh dear,
Take out a bulb and check it, maybe the fuse isn't the only thing blown.

I can get the center one to go by turning it from door to on, and I can get the door ones to go by running power to that circuit from another source, but they just wont go when the doors are open etc like they are ment to... :(

How about the dash lights?

Those are all going, in fact I can't find anything else that isn't going, although I have just found 1 other fuse that has blown.

I dont have another spare fuse to replace it, but when I swap round the working ones I still cant get any joy. I hope that once I get all the fuses fixed that it might come right - although I'm not too hopefull???

I hope so too.
There is a body computer that plugs into the back of the fusebox. It controls the interior lights and most of the beeps and buzzers.

Oh Crap. It was from down there that I heard a 'tick' when I shorted them out...

I have pulled it all to bits today and replaced all the fuse's I can find....
However still no luck!

Can anyone tell me if there is a fuse outside of the normal fusebox that I might have blown or what I should try next?

Good luck, dosn't sound to healthy!

I don't know how you can get your hands into those tight spaces to pull it all apart, mine don't fit! *looks at big hands and runs and hides*

Funny you say that, I managed to get stuck today with one arm under the dash - took about 5 minutes to wriggle my way out! - Thought I was in real trouble!!!

As an aside, when it shorted out I heard what sounded like two fuses blowing (ie. two ticks) - I have only managed to find one (I have blown it again accidentally and it made the same ticks noise, but only once).

Does anyone know what this second tick might have been???

Do you have fuses in the driver side door??

Do you mean 'in' the door? The only ones I have found are in the drivers footwell (oh, and those under the bonnet).

there's also one int the passenger footwell.

But, sounds like you've got what happened to me.
The 'Interior Lights fade' on mine blew ages ago and i had to get it rewired to just be on/off.
Weird thing was that the light still worked in the '"On" postition

shoudl replace my body computer sometime...

Thats what I have wired mine to be at the moment as a solution - just on off with the door open/closed.

Its a shame as it looked realy nice with the extra lighting I had wired to it and the way it would come on with the alarm being un-armed :-(

Might see if I can find a new body comp at the wreckers and see if that fixes it (Do you think it would?)

I havent noticed any in my door, where are they???
