Hey All,
I'm kinda new here (first post, but been reading here for a while) and thought it was about time I introduced myself and said hi in the process.
My current ride is a 1993 Astina SP - I've held back with mods on this car though since I'm more a fan of the Lantis shape and will be upgrading to one of them in the next month or so which should be good (dilemmas - V6 or 1.8L???).
It's good to see there's a healthy amount of 323 owners out there as well - also have to give a big thumbs up for the site and the forum:)
Cheers

Welcome Brendon :) Its good to have a another edition to the Astina family :D[/color:post_uid2]
Hi Brenden and Welcome !!
There are a lot of other members in the NSW / Canberra area so come to a cruise and say Hi in person :)
With such a small difference in price between the two models these days, I'd recommend you go for the v6. The extra power and features should make it worth it. ( you would have had to pay about $10,000 / $15,000 more for the v6 when they were new :O )

Thanks fellas :)
I'm in Sydney, so I'll definately be keen to meet up with everyone on a cruise sometime.
I am leaning towards the V6 because I don't want to go to over the top with mods - yet (at least till I'm 25, which is a still a bit over a couple of years away). Hopefully in the next month or so I'll start seriously looking - once uni exams and a few other things are behind me.

Hi Brenden & welcome to the astina forums!
Nice to hear from another astina owner in Australia! :) I agree with Dogo... get a V6 version, as the 1.8 would be the same engine as your SP, so an upgrade to the v6 version would be more worthwhile for you in terms of power and features and they aren't much more nowadays (wished that was the case when I brought my '97 1.8 hatch! ;))
Anyway, wishing you all the best with your uni exams and happy hunting for your BA astina! :)
Cheers;

Welcome Brenden.
Bang for your buck agree the V6 is the better buy at
todays prices. Looking forward to hearing how you
go and if you got any questions please ask.

Thanks everyone.
I did see the Canberra cruise thread, but I can't make it this weekend unfortunately - I'm off to Melbourne with a few friends to celebrate no more bloody uni :p
Although I'll definately be up for the next one - might even have the new Astina by then as well.
Seems like the general consensus is to go for the V6 which is good. I was thinkin a nice gunmetal grey example would do the trick, but after reading the thread in the for sale section, I may have to resort to another colour. All part of the fun in looking for a car I guess :)

Welcome...
If I had the extra $$$ at the time I would have got the V6, but insurance was a problem for me too. Having the V6 bumped insurance up a bit, but I am now really regretting it, and might be looking to change over.
As for colour - Noble Green rocks. I think it is still winning the poll too.
If you are still livin' it up in Melb around the 1st - we are having a cruise then (check the cruise forum). You could meet some of the melbourne crowd.[/color:post_uid0]
