After spending so much time down at the workshop, i can tell you from experience...

As we do bodykits, bodykit repairs and many other things incuding custom fireglass and carbon fibre dashs and wings....

Nearly all the cracked skirts, front bars and wings that have come from carmate you would be amazed... everything has pits, dimples, unclear lines and god forbid you get your kit painted and fitted there they will leave runs everywhere, pop rivet or sikaflex it to the body and hope you dont notice...

i will for the point of the thread explain one of our customers cars from last week:
Car: 94 lancer with carmate wide body guards, bonnet, evo head lights, and evo front bar

The car came in... bodykit was 2 months old. The Front bar had stress fractured right along the top of the bar. the wide body guards, the fact that they didnt even meet or match each other as far as lines, had been sikaflexed onto the side of the body with around 1/2 a tube of sikaflex!!! took about 3 hours to take them all off!
Then came the bonnet, it had warped so far that the you could no longer open it!
On removing the bonnet to repair it we discovered the whole front bar was held on with not 6 not 4 but 2 screws.. youd think itd come off on the freeway...lol and then the fact that the lights did not even suite the line of the car...

i will stop there... but this was all just last week... not a story that has gone around the bloack and back...
I usually dont bag out companies for there products because cheap products are made cheaply... but for the price carmate charges for most stuff it just doesnt pass. Nearly everything they sell is a mould of a mould of a mould of a mould etc.

If you going to make your car look mad with a good bodykit... one piece of advice... you get what you pay for... the guy selling, painting, and fitting the kit doesnt have to drive around in it everyday... the saying "its not my car" may have flowed around their workshop a few too many times...

long msg... but had the strong feelings, had to contribute... just my 2c

NOTE: if you want to buy a bodykit and like carmates kits, by all means go with you own decision, mine was just my opinion...
