mine look a lot different to them. mine have 2 headrests on the rear seat on on each side.
that appears to be a two seater at the rear?
mine doesnt have the hole in the back seat
and they appear to have hard backs?

Lazy_g
06-11-2008, 08:02 PM
indeed hard backs, and they have 3 headrests in the back.
But the wholes are not there, you have to make them yourself.

This is the set from the last group-buy ;)

Would you be able to give me a rough estimate on how much extra material I would require to do my full interior, including accessories? (console, dash, door cards etc. . .)?This would be for a 1996 BA.

Much appreciated.

Are you still keen to donate your seat covers? Im sure other members are willing to chip in a little extra to help you out? If that helps?

I'll still do it (wouldn't say i'm keen but someone's got to!) But before i commit my seats there's some things that i want to know.

1. what covers the back of the back seats, the bit in the boot? I would assume they are doing the complete seats in the letherette.... Currently there's a carpet covering. Is is a possibility that they can use my current covering? (since they will have it there anyway) I often have bikes in the car as both frank and i cycle and having that heavy duty material on the back of the seats is important.

2. from the previous group buy thread... "correct. but if you do you will get a discount from a group buy and also the company will pay you commission on sales of the BJ model ones every order that is made." Does this apply?? got any idea how much it will cost for the person who sends in thier seats?

3. it says in the pdf that the style of the seat covers is the same as the factory trim, does that mean we can pick three colours like the original seats are?

4. Where (what town/state/country) would i need to send my original ones to? (just so i can try to figure out what the total cost of getting the retrim would be)

5. Is there instructions on how to take off the factory trim? i was having a look yesterday and it seems like for some parts the only way to get ot off is scissiors or unstiching.

6. Does this company do the matching gear boots aswell? if yes will that require sending it away too?

Sorry for having so many questions. I cant explain why i care so much, but it seems like a big deal to cut up my factory trim!

im not definate but im pretty sure the back seat is 2 different pieces. the material is one side and the carpet is another. so you will still retain the carpet in the boot.

to remove the seat covers i think you have to un hook it from the base of the seat,(its held in with a wire loopy thing) and roll it up and off.

i hope this helps, but im sure the organiser has a guide or something to help you out with detail.

im very tempted to go for this stuff..

but one thing that turns me off, is that it doesn't absorb moisture or anything.. and in summer, i don't really want to be sitting in a pool of sweat, and stick to the seat :(...

other than that, i'm thinking about jumping in with this group buy as an xmas pressie to myself :D

shouldn't be too hard. the hardest part would be removing your seats.. then i think its just a matter of smoothing out all the wrinkles and making it look sexy

Hey guys sorry for letting you guys wait so long for some answers...

Had a computer crass...:(

But here are your answers:

1. what covers the back of the back seats, the bit in the boot? I would assume they are doing the complete seats in the letherette.... Currently there's a carpet covering. Is is a possibility that they can use my current covering? (since they will have it there anyway) I often have bikes in the car as both frank and i cycle and having that heavy duty material on the back of the seats is important.
You will get a new piece of carpet.
If you want i can ask the exatra costs to have the carpet also done in the Leatherette.;)

2. from the previous group buy thread... "correct. but if you do you will get a discount from a group buy and also the company will pay you commission on sales of the BJ model ones every order that is made." Does this apply?? got any idea how much it will cost for the person who sends in thier seats?
Nope does not apply.
What i can do, is pay you back the shipment costs for the original set.

3. it says in the pdf that the style of the seat covers is the same as the factory trim, does that mean we can pick three colours like the original seats are?
You can get multiple colours for the same price ;)

4. Where (what town/state/country) would i need to send my original ones to? (just so i can try to figure out what the total cost of getting the retrim would be)
Have to look into this, will let you know asap;)

5. Is there instructions on how to take off the factory trim? i was having a look yesterday and it seems like for some parts the only way to get ot off is scissiors or unstiching.
I can put you in contact with someone who had a BJ set already if you like?

6. Does this company do the matching gear boots aswell? if yes will that require sending it away too?

This is possible, will have to ask your price

are they eay to install or do you need to get a pro to do it ....
You can definitely do them yourself. just have to take your time for it;)

im very tempted to go for this stuff..

but one thing that turns me off, is that it doesn't absorb moisture or anything.. and in summer, i don't really want to be sitting in a pool of sweat, and stick to the seat ...

other than that, i'm thinking about jumping in with this group buy as an xmas pressie to myself

Well i have them myself, and i have to say it is not as bad as you are saying.
Real leather you also sweat as much on as these;)

but a group-buy like this just takes some time.

There is still 1 and a half months before it closes. ;) so plenty of time
