Nah, if he was good the gates would be tight and close and he wouldn't need to be driving a hypo Subaru.
Clarkson drives like that on Top Gear the difference is that Clarkson admits it's all show and he doesn't pretend it's a race course.

handbrake is hydraulic, not cable, and still on the rear axle.

70NYD
03-06-2009, 12:06 PM
nah i like this one better, the stuff is a lot more riski, like the peelout from the warehouse doors next to the water... wonder how many rexes became fish that day :p
i just dont understand 2 things
what is the point of that ugly spoiler??
what does that have to do with dc??

marcs_sp20
03-06-2009, 12:09 PM
DC shoes is one of his Major sponsors...

Gotta remember this is suppose to be a rally car...

bourbon
03-06-2009, 12:14 PM
he is a rally driver from memory and that DC sponsors the rally car???

i love the bit when he goes under the truck then the fire...also the slow mode side on seein all 4 wheels turning just looks trippy...

Rupewrecht
03-06-2009, 12:20 PM
He's the founder of DC Shoes.

I dunno, it was just less about the driving this time IMO.

marcs_sp20
03-06-2009, 12:22 PM
I think it was to do with stunts this time, but oh well, already have it on the fone :p

70NYD
03-06-2009, 12:53 PM
nah i understand that they are a sponsor, i just find it stupid that a skate company sponsors a rally car, or any car for that matter. thats just my point of view. i know anyone can sponsor anything, but i find it hard to see how they would reach a target audience thats all ;)

Young people = expendable cash = they buy shoes as a fashion statement, not just as something to wear

Rally = plenty of young people watch it = are exposed to DC shoes, they see and recognise them in a store, are more likely to consider them.

Halo effect of exposing DC Shoes to a wider audience that may not have otherwise even known of their existence.

:o k so im the guy who sits there and reads the fine print in every add i dont really care much about the products :o

project.r.racing
03-06-2009, 05:54 PM
Dont forget that rallying in america is part of the X-Games / X-treme sports group. Which also includes BMX, inline skating, skiing and snowbroading. So DC fits well into the marketing for this group of people.
