Yeh i think it was compared to the Focus, which was $27 500 for the LX, with no kit, no spoiler, no six stack indash, small alloys, and an ugly shape. I love the SP20's looks.

$26,000 drive away? Damn that cheap I got my car in July, July plated as well. With leather interior, paint protection, interior and leather protection, rust proofing and sound deadening, I had to pay $31,500. I think leather is only $3,500? after market? so still, you got it good.

Does any one know if on road costs are more/less in other states as compared to NSW.

On the the other note, BIG CONGRATS on a good car! hope you have as much fun as I do driving around, love those turns. I think I might get some clear indicators as well, my car is the starry blue colour. pictures are at http://www.dv8.com.au/carimages/

the other option is www.ozeparts.com.au the latest clear indicators from these guys are MUCH MUCH MUCH better than commodore ones as they have a funky pattern happening inside them :P

cheers mike

Welcome to the club...

26k...that's a good buy... i think the proteges are a bit cheaper than the astina's.. but onroad with protection is awesome!

$50 a pair????

That is waaaaay expensive!!!

You can get them much cheaper than that!!!!

I would do as the other guys suggest first, if that doesn't work, get back to us here at AstinaGT before going to Street Dreamers and am sure we will all be able to help you find something cheaper than that!!!!

BTW, good luck with your car :D

And welcome to AstinaGT, a community of Astina owners helping Astina owners.
Don't worry about that other business stuff unless you want to ok?
The choice is totally up to you, but don't feel you are pressured ok?
It is not a business that is sponsored by the AstinaGT members or the site I think, well at least by me anyway. We all help each other out, not help businesses out here.

So feel free to ask lots of questions n stuff, I did when I first came here with my stock little Astina. Slowly but surely I am getting there :D

It took me ages to get my clear side indicators, and I haven't done all that much to my car yet.
Check out the readers rides section of the website to see who has done what to their cars and that way you get an idea.

Anyway, as I said earlier, good luck... and welcome again :D

The commodore one's look good! Five finger deal if u like!
They DONT fit! the mazda hole is heaps bigger!
Before u pull out the old ones grab a permanant marker & put 2 dots at each end of the indicator (latitude), then remove the orange ****ers!
When u go to put the commodore ones in u will notice they move around a lot in the hole allowing u to F#*k it up!
First get a small file or razor blade (CAUTION) & U will need 2 make the mazda light fitting, fit into the clear indicator housing! The electrical connector is different on the commodore! Just remove the rotating tag that stops it from fitting in!
Once U hav both globes fitted in! connect them to the loom just to make sure the globes are working!
Next, get a bit of sandpaper and litely sand the rubber seal ends on the clear indicactors (Just so the blace silicone sticks a bit better!) I used black selastic!

Final step! (clean both surfaces with some window cleaner & let dry)
1- Put two dabs of silicone on each end where u sanded!
2- Rip off a couple of 10cm long bits of masking tape!
3- Connect the electrical connector!
4- CAREFULLY put the lens in the hole and line up each end with the two dots u marked on originally! Then put tape on lens to hold it! Grab a second set of hands if u need it!
5- Wait for it to dry (overnight) then if any silicone has popped out the side just scrape it off with ur finger nail)
6- DONT worry about removing the lens! the silicone peels away from the rubber seal fairly easy but not easy enough for it to come of when washing or high-pressure washing!

7- ENJOY having no more ugly orange on ur car-ONLY clear! YA!

Or just do what most of the other guys have done here and buy the items from www.ozeparts.com.au as it's just a clipout/clipin job.. 30 seconds flat! :D

I got a set of clear lenses from a mate for $30 + GST = $33.
My car is same shape as yours. BJ series 1 (2000) though, so they would be the same.
He owns an Autobahn, but it's in Melb.
He could tee you up with some but not sure of postage cost??
The quality is not as good as Mazda, but nowhere near the price of them either. Having said that, I have had 'em for a couple of months & they're fine. They look good on the car, just close up in your hand, the rubbers aren't as thick as the original ones.

Hi people!

sorry to come in late, but I am searching for those elusive clear indicators! As ozeparts.com.au is out of stock does anyone have any decent suggestions for a supplier?

cheers!

mine fit perfectly... dont need anything... slot right in...

$50 is basically $2 more expensive than what SRS sell them for... not outrageous...

anyway they are a perfect fit, and nothing wrong with em =)
