...are finally on my Astina.

Wheel specs: 17x8, +38, 5x114.3.
Tyre specs: Falken RT-615 in 215/40/17.

I love em. The vision in my head actually worked out - which i was getting a bit worried about! No rubbing, and they fill the guards perfectly.

You can't see the sexy brakes no more :(
Kinda like a Saab, individual parts look odd but all together looks great.

I loved them on Rx-7's with bright colours and other Mazda's the same I remember seeing a 800M with them on. but it was a really clean green.

I think once you srpay everything colour coordinate it would be better.
plus a maybe a little height. It just looks too low to show the wheel.

In that if you had 20's that height would be cooler
okay 18's or 19's

it's them dam BA oversize arches you now hoave too much rubber and being so low in that back you have like big black gaps between front and rear none at top.

But just my OPINION.
I don't bow down to LOOKS.

be glad you don't live in Sydney - dirving that car one would need air bags for one's arse.
I already have a damaged spine.

That place where the pics are looks very familiar....I remember you doing those rear lights, do they still have any reflector bits on them?

Yea, it's only that low for the pics - it's about an inch higher all round now.

No rubbing at all, but the collars of the JICs are about 5-8mm from the rim edge. I will eventually roll the rear gaurds just so the tyres don't rip into them, though it hasn't been a problem so far (and there shouldn't be anyway).

Location: Ringwood, industrial complex just off New St.

It's funny - the Falkens are actually a hell of a lot more comfortable ride that the Astina 16" alloys i had on there previously!

Here he comes
Her comes Speed Racer
He's a demon on wheels
He's a demon and he's gonna be chasin' after someone.

He's gainin' on you so you better look alive.
He's busy revvin' up a powerful Mach 5.

And when the odds are against him
And there's dangerous work to do
You bet your life Speed Racer
Will see it through.

Go Speed Racer
Go Speed Racer
Go Speed Racer, Go!

He's off and flyin' as he guns the car around the track
He's jammin' down the pedal like he's never comin' back
Adventure's waitin' just ahead.

Go Speed Racer
Go Speed Racer

For some reason those rims look way bigger than 17" to me.

I think it's because they fill the guards so much - they certainly look bigger than the OZ Polaris ever did. I mean, the tyres are the same size (well the fronts are) so it's not that they're thinner or anything.

That car looks wicked, the height should be good now that you have made it a bit higher.

Not a huge fan of the rims but i have the Falkens Azenis ST115's on the 180 and they are bloody good tyres ay...

Rupe, you have done some bloody good custom stuff with that car and you should be happy with it...good work bud.

How much do they weigh?

Rupewrecht

Just under 8kg. Bloody light for the size.

Thats nuts.

Looks tough, and for an astina (not the toughest car out there) that is a hell of an accomplishment.

I love that.

Very nice Rupe
