Check out this site for some good ideas for big audio installs
http://www.polkaudio.com/caraudio/installs/polk.php
And for the ppl that know my BG, i'm lookin at replacin my hard hittin 12" sub with a new 15" (yes i'll have no boot at all soon)
Im thinkin of going with the Soundstream XXX-15
www.soundstream.com.au
Here is the best part RMS power 8500 pumpin out 89Db (no typo, the 18" does 10k talk about lights dimming)
So now i have to rip out all my boot and rebuild it and strengthen it right up. That will give me plenty of go in the SPL drag comps. Real Drags well ummmm...i may get to the 1/4 mile...eventually :P

What brand of 12"?
And thats kinda odd cause the Soundstream 18" in the XXX series comes with a cert of the most powerful sub u can buy and thats only 90dB, last year a car with 4 in it won SPL comp.

mine were only epsilon brand..but hey the ratings on the subs are never true...well they are in certain environments...it all does depend on the box, and surroundings and so on...

Only bad thing about these subs is the price. around the $2k mark. and the XXX-6500D amp to run them gets hot and $$$.
:( i have to leave pioneer behind cause i got there top of the range gear in now and its loud but now near enough. I gotta run to work. Catch ya. If ya got a pic of ur subs i'll get my guys to approz what real dB ur puttin out if ya want. Rev mount as a rule gives u more in the shape of a hatch back.

$2500 for the sub and $3500 for the XXX-6500D amp to power it. So i gotta say thanks for Alberts for overpricing, considering motoquip do the 18" and the sub for under $5k. I mean im the first one to say "keep the change" but i ain't gonna buy stuff from some1 that overprices by that much.
Only other problem is that unless i want to rattle my sub chassis i can't turn up the sub with the back door shut :( too much pressure in one spot
so i'll have to settle for 2 12". lookin at the Reference R1 series (800rms, 2400 burst) or the T5 series (900rms, 84.9dB), will still kick what most ppl have on the street and it won't kill my car. Probably cost around the same.
