Ok, now that the Kitty has a fully sik interior lighting job..... thanx to Aaron for finishing the neons!

Together, the neons and the LED's look awesome!!!!

Well after spending so much time looking in my footwells, I have noticed my shabby looking pedals

Sparco has been mentioned because the rubbers can be replaced but I don't want to drill holes in my existing pedals and I don't want to pay much!

Supercheap have a set on Superspecial that look Supertacky for $10.
Unfortunately the glue is all over the place and they are BLEH!

So can anyone recommend a decent looking set of Cheapies that have nice rubber? No point buying PHAT looking pedals if feet are going to slip off them at every opportunity!

And something that clips over the existing pedals would be really handy too!

Thanks fella's (and girls too of course! :D )

=^..^=

I have some RAZO pedals (for manual) that are really good. Came off my rolla sx, but you need to drill into through the standard pedals to screw these in.

dont buy the clip style pedals... they will annoy the crap outta ya. The screwed on type are the best.

New style LED's don't need extra wiring......

Wedge bulb LED's go in doors, no need for the bulb condoms

and an LED festoon bulb for the roof light.

Then the cold cathodes like Dazz's except I didn't do the back passengers area like Dazz did. I did put the under dash ones in the front though.

(well I didn't actually do it, Aaron did)

but the cold cathodes (neons) are hooked through the roof lighting so they fade out with the door and roof light, looks very schmick!

Wait until you see them Dazz! Noice one moite!

Kyra: When you say you have some RAZO ones, are they on your 'stina? What are they worth?

Jynx: *insert sexual comment about your desire to screw*

Im thinking skyline might have saved me some sanity..... but now that my water pump has decided to **** itself im currently looking at dropping the new motor in very very soon :)

The clip on ones have a tendancy to slip off the pedal. Most are a pissy bit of metal folded around the back of the pedal.... mine lasted 2 weeks before slipping off.

um.. i have RAZO clip on pedals in my car for 3 yrs now and they r still pretty secure, never sliped off once.

they have carbon fiber bits on it too

only thing i wasn't used to, was that they were a bit big, at first when i steped on the breaks, my foot would also step on the accelerator.. but got used to it pretty quick, and it's pretty handy now for the heel and toe trick =)

Thanks Chris.

And Jimbo.... those headers are MINE!!!!!!!!

So the clip on types are dependant on the clip on-ie bits, or if they have springs or something.......

mmmmm carbon fibre...... mmmm noice!

when you say they were big Chris, do you mean width or height?

heel and toe trick? if I am asking this question and I already do that when I drive, I'll.... I'll..... I'll...... look DUMB! So there! Take that! :D

Jim: your water pump? sheesh you are throwing some money into your car lately! She just keeps guzzling it up (hence it must be a female ;) )

the toe heal trick is when you have the toe on the brake and heal on the gas (or vice versa) - I've only come across it being useful in three occasions (but others may know more)

** when quick switching from full noise to full brake and back

** On slippery surfaces (ie rally or speedway) to give a little braking while also accelerating a FWD round a corner - it should cause the back end to oversteer (and if done correctly can be used to avoid understeer). Can be used to get you out of situations where you go into the corner to quick and both accelerating further or letting off will cause understeer (not easy, and only realy recommended with caution to get you out of a situation where understeer could be realy dangerious to understear - ie. in speedway with another car on the outside of you on a slippery track). The other option is to use the hand break, but the toe heal allows you to counter the understear while lifting off to change gear (ie cant change gear and use handbrake).
I have seen situations where this has worked realy well (saved my life once). I have also seen it go horribly wrong!!!!

** Most commonly used for burnouts in a RWD. A little break give the front tyres a more grip to stop the car rolling forward, whithout sucking to much power from the rear wheels as they let go! Much the same as pulling on the hand break when doing burnouts in a FWD

Hope this all makes sense...

kitty they a big both ways coz they needto cover the old pedels, but the problem is with the width.

the clips hold it securely, but is also aided by doublesided spounge tape thingies u get with it =)

haha prenod, that's pretty hardcore.. i just use it sometime when turning a corner, while u brake into a corner and u gear down, the rev stays high so u can pull out of the corner faster, if that makes any sense..

yeah it's called the heel and toe, but u don't actually use ur heel and toe, just use um.. the ball of ur foot on the brake and the other half of ur foot on the accelerator, ur feet still point forward/to the sky.

=)

I came round a corner once on a skifield gravel road, wasn't even doing that quick... As I came round, there was a car parked on the inside of the corner (overheated) right in my path... I had to stear against the turn of the corner to get around the car, so I was heading towards the edge of the cliff...
As I went to turn back round the corner the car just kept going straight. I grabbed the hand brake and hit the gas both at once. The back end flicked round and just touched the edge, of the cliff letting the front wheels dig in and pull me back onto the road.
Its not something I would recommend, in fact I cant believe I tried it at all! I suppose instinct just took over! Hence the 'it save me' comment.

Anyway, I digress from the initial path of this topic (sorry Kitty :P )

That's sounds strange. I don't think my pedals are close enough to do that. I have to actually use the ball of my foot and the heel. Just seems funny that you can keep your foot straight instead of diagonal. hehe

I think the clip on pedals are pretty crap. They come with screw on latches at the back that don't always fit your pedals, so you kinda make do.

The other option is drilling holes in your pedals, and screwing the pretty ones on properly. For the break and the clutch, pull the original rubber covers off the pedals first. That way you can remove the pretty pedals, and put the old ones back easily. As for the accelerator, you'll just need to drill a hole. The holes are pretty small, and would be hard to notice if you were trying to sell the car later.

The hardest part is trying to align the pedals, and use a drill in a place where your feet are meant to go, not your head.

That's the info I was after cgunther!

Not that the guys haven't given me other good info too..... and I am not going to make a comment about foot size being relative to *ahem*

*blush*

That is exactly my point though, if I want to sell the car later, I want to be able to offer it with or without "stuff".

ie/ if I really love the silly pedals, I can keep them, otherwise if they are solid enough, I can sell them with the car no probs!

Fantastic work..... next is where is a good website that I can look at cheap ones... cheap being say less than $60 on my car... yes I am truly cheap

I didn't even consider interior lighting until I saw your car at Leanne's 21st!!!

But I was so impressed, I had to do something about it...

and viola!!!!!

:D

so.... it's all your fault....

there Aaron, it's his fault I asked you to do all that weirdo wiring for me, him

*points*

hee hee hee

thanks Dazz!

I have the SAAS pedals. They were $25, so pretty cheap (Autobahn I think). The outside is anodized aluminium (which will slowly wear away and turn silver, but you could easily replace them with new ones when that happens), and there are rubber pads in the centre (3 little strips). They are bigger than standard, and they can be slippery if your feet are wet, but its not a problem when you get used to it.

I have heard of people being defected because the rubber on their factory break pedal was worn down. I don't know if this still happens, or where after market pedals fit into the picture. You'd probably have to piss the cop off a lot for him to do you for the pedals though.
