Auto Power windows on all windows on SP20

Hey,

I was wondering if anyone has tried to make all windows auto not just the driver side. I called mazda parts, and I can not buy 3 extra switches on their own, have to buy the whole set, $320! so no thanks.

Other option, using my experience and little I learnt at uni, I know I can possibly make a circuit that could latch to auto is the switch is held for say 2 seconds? and stop if the switch is triggered again.

Any other ideas?

no good 5 seconds an the window would be down anyway good thought though keep thinking but dont strain anything

any idea how the stock auto opener/closer works? does it have a sensor to stop when it gets up / meets resistance , or does it just hold the up/down signal for a certain amount of time ?

My guess is that when the glass stops the motor draws extra current which signals a circuit to turn the motor off. Problem is that the switch has four contacts, manual up, manual down, auto up and auto down while the standard switch has only two (manual up and manual down).

hmm... well thats where my concept of a digital latch, flip flop, any thing could work, because it would have digital logic. but knowing my skills i think i would have a board with chips on it the size of a normal mother board! :wink:

I might rip my door apart and see whats going on. unless some one already has a door out, wouldn't mind getting spare parts some where cheap to see what really happens.

What about some of those alarm systems that have it built into them (or an extra module). You switch the alarm on, and all the windows go up. Is that what you want to achieve? Wouldn't be too hard to put a switch across it to get all down as well all up.

no sorry i haven't but srs sydney have the tail lights in black or clear so maybe they may have them or can get them for u.

cgunther: I was after having the feature of "AUTO" on all windows not just driver side. You know when you push down on it further, it can go up or down, after you let go of the switch.

Jaycar sell the window closers to hook up with the alarm. Problem is believe they are D/C current for when the car is switched off instead of A/C for when
it is running, I remember some issue anyway. Look on their website anyway.

i was thinking that i wanted something like this on my car... i usually don't use the A/C, just whack all the windows down and it would be easier just to have the auto button...

what about a wreckers and getting 3 more driver window switches? or don't many SP20's get written off?
