Yeah i reckon it has to be a V8 from either Holden or Ford since it comes with 19 inch rims. Im gonna guess a Holden Clubsport R8. Ive seen a couple of them around and theyre heaps nice

Clubsport R8's my guess too.
Edit: hmm, in Skitz' for sale thread he says "but buying new mazda"; an Rx8 technically has 4 doors even if two are shaved, and an update for it was released last year, right?
Ahhh yes, im changing my guess to a RX8 GT as well. Just looked at its specs and just noticed that the GT version comes with 19 inch rims. Its considered 4 doors and definately has twin exhausts and is priced between 50-70k

Im still thinking FPV F6 typhoon as the new model was released in the 2nd half of the year, and going off the amount off peeps have gone from astina's to F6's :p (chipa for one)

You have no idea! 70L premium = 450kms Grrrrr
it is almost double the fuel useage of the astina.
But that being said is a dream to drive.

You should get upto 600km on the highway. My old rotary was 300km on the highway for 60l premium. 40km for 60l on the track :D but hell what an exciting 40km

Mad, what was your old rotary Cosmo?
Cosmo Dude
19-03-2009, 06:46 PM
An '81 HB Cosmo with a series IV 13B turbo (actually HC Luce series I, same but different) extend port with Wolf 3D 3.5 ECU. Over 180kw at the wheels and only a 2.25" exhaust. It was an experimental port, I had torque.

yeah i would of thought so too but the new GT is low range and rev's high on the high way (around 4k) gets about 550 on highway with air con etc.
hoping once i sebtle down in it that it can get 600 around town....

you lot are worried about nothing
Rotaries aren't that big a drinkers- The difference is HOW you drive one. They are more effected that way.
example is my own wagon - best city is 340km's to 55Ls used it's got 60L tank. Yeah I bleed it dry and it's got non baffelld tank AKA it starves below 1/4 level.
on highway proberly get 500km's If I use 5th gear. I've got the nice extra high 2.2L 5th gear in my G sereis 0.710
but I in city I drive it 1st 2nd - maybe 3rd gear- Yes that's right I dont' drive it below approx 2500rpm. It's tall ratio'd carrying a 1400KG body.
maybe if I was like Bitch and I tuned it for more economy ( I tuned it for pure torque)
SKITZ forget economy just drive it like your OWN it.
If you can't afford to fill it up each week - YOu can't afford a car period.
it's like can't afford tyres rego etc - You can't afford the car. Live with out it.
On the Rx-8 - apparenlty the car drives better on track with 18's or 17's can't remember but what ever the first version back in 03 came out with.
Plus the 19's rubber - IMO it's just extra wasted dolalrs on looks. As most 19's inch tyres that are decent priced are **** -I mean ****. even some of the bigger branded stuff is poor grip. Mates very disapointed with his 19's on his 300C I think there dunlop sports sp. or something like that. His Michelin pilots were heaps better. yes the it does fry them both.
Oh Pics woudl be nice but if you haven't seen one see your local mazda showroom? Ask to borrow it as well

Yeah don't expect good petrol milage on an RX8, like Rod said, if you can't afford the petrol for it then you wouldn't buy it. Just remember it uses oil in normal driving too.
There are quite a few 3 yr old RX8s around late last year for sale in the mid 20s cause people got burned by the fuel costs.

A rotary (or at least the ones I've dealt with) are designed to use about 100ml per 10,000km.
For those curious the oil slowly bleeds oil into the inlet to lubricate the apex seals on the rotors.

 dude, that's 32L per 100km!
My next car will almost certainly be a diesel or a hybrid. I really like the new mazda 6 turbo diesel, and its fuel consumption is only 5.9L (can't remember if that's the city or combined though). Considering that the SP I drive is roughly 92kw, the Mazda 6's 136kw is more than enough for me =)

Loving the exterior (especially those uber sexy 19's!), not sure on the seats though, i think im just use to the rotor symbol near the headrest, makes it look good and not something out of a spaceship...
