since we're not allowed to spend it on debt repayment, hehehe, i've already spent $500 on a down payment for a flash new mobile phone and i'm hoping the rest will get me the BG SP front brakes installed that i've been sitting on for months and some QFM A1RM pads for both ends.

i wish, just rebuilding it to swap with the current one (which is eating, leaking and smoking out oil :().

while i have it apart i'll probably port and polish, but that's probably it. might look at light weight pulley's if funds permit. would love to put in high comp pistons, aggro cams and ECU but i'm trying to save enough to go to europe at the end of this year.

Me too but I set aside 10k from the deposit for furniture, whitegoods etc.

My settlement is in under 2 weeks but I won't be moving until late May
The previous owner is building and their place isn't ready on time so they're renting it for 5 weeks.

I bought a big TV before the house because I knew that when I was moving in I wouldnt be able to justify the "better model"

How big is BIG though for a TV? We have a Panasonic 37" LCD HDTV and its absolutley massive in our place, cost us around $1250 in July last year (RRp being $1550 cos my aunty is the Customer service manager at the Good Guys here in ippy)...

Lol where did you hear THAT bs? From the ATO website:

"All cheque and EFT payments will be made using a post code selection process that is randomly generated, ensuring all post codes are evenly distributed to each state and territory each night (using the Australia Post predetermined percentage spread). For this reason and because of security concerns, we are not planning to publish a distribution schedule."

I don't know what your debts and situation are, but if you filed a tax return and you paid some tax last year, your income was less than $100,000, and you're an Australian resident, then you'll get the bonus.

marcs_sp20
07-04-2009, 06:04 PM
Mussing,

What I posted in the other bonus thread:

This will clear this up: Straight from the ATO website...

Payments will start from early April 2009. People who have already had their tax returns assessed will be the first to receive their payment. The fastest way to receive payment is directly into your bank account.

The later you lodge your 2007-08 tax return, the longer it will take for you to get your payment.

So if you did your return on the 1st of July, you will receive your payment faster then someone who did it on the 18th of October...

It sounds like the ATO is like a woman: always changing there minds :p

I only pay the correct amount of TAX - As minimal as possible.

but what can you do.

I can't belive people still worry about Tv size.
Okay I use a 42inch LCD for a PC screen but 60inch plasma I have as main Tv - it's still not big enough.
seriously it is not. They never are big enough. It's a never ending cycle. It's like power figures not matter even if oyu can't get 800Hp to the ground even if it sends you spinning around and around. Once your use to it - you want.

but here is something to think about. Even if you have it all setup HD Digital Foxtel Tv- or similar - What the hell are you watching. I can't watcH free to air anymore. And even PayTV is **** - I pay an extra $22 for each extra box a month and yet, I find it's only for sport and Overseas news. The amount of **** on TV, you have to be stoned - high and pissed at the same time to watch it.

Trust me it takes 5 years off your life, you wake up in places in position and with pain in places you can't figure out but at least you have a smile on your face.

sorry to go off topic
What's needed to run it on this very hi - would like a Ge force 9800 GX 2 be like good enough it's one product I'm looking at
or this one Gigabyte ATI HD4870X2. only reason I ask last PC I built for my family had a 1gb version I'm thinking the 2gb for me. I don't game but I like knowning I've got the ability to not worry about it.

I just need HDMI output so I can remove some cable.

back on topic a little

I just heard from a good buddy of mine in our great government that, If we do get another hand out - it won't be for everyone this time out. that's what he's recommending.

So spend it wisely. As Being the nerdy accountant type who warned me I should stop shopping in japan. ( like that could ever happen)
He said to me 2 years Ago things don't look good. Predicted this. (note he was not part of the current government, just an anylisst he was told to Shut up and sent on assingment in Tasmania)
He keeps telling me and others to get use to tight times.

I hope he's wrong. but then again I grew up in the early 90's Stealing "Things" to get buy. It's funny to think heading down that way again for some people.

i dunno what would run it on Vhigh smoothly, i got a 8800 GTS 512 (:( bout the 512) but i built this computer when crysis came out (nearly 2 years ago) and if ran with that card and 4gb of ram and a 3gh amd 62 dual it lags noticably if number of bodys is set to max. but if its set to low, and not played near water, than its fine. if played near water on v high everything but low bodis it will lag onyl on fast turning.. hope that answers ur question :)

Ice88
30-04-2009, 12:17 AM
Card wont do it alone. Im not sure what specs a stock system would need to run it at very high but id take a guess at:

4870 GDDR4 (the important bit), or X2. 9800s are **** house.
2-4GB RAM
Dual Core (or High Clocked Quad) - Pref Intel as they own atm.
Decent Motherboard.

Should do it. My system was miss matched bits n pieces and Crysis didnt really push it too much. There are games out now that are just as good :) With a story line to boot!

If you want a game that will tax even the beefiest of rigs (i could barely get 20 fps) try CM9 for HL2 :)

Sony is panicing on the future of PS3 I think. If it didnt have the BluRay player built in there wouldnt be much going for it. PC/Xbox is getting rights to the good games and/or expansion packs.
