Well, as you may know. ITS DAMN EXPENSIVE!

There must be alternatives that perform just as well.

Ive been thinking about a few layers of bubble rap spanning the whole of the inner door?

what u guys think?

Heh.. you've been talking to pr1mo haven't you?? He's done the same thing.. I'd wondered about a 3-5mm rubber matting type of deadening myself. I wonder how it would go? Anyway.. :?

Mike how well did the bubble wrap work? :P

Bubble wrap  I'd have used egg cartons :P

Seriously...
Make a cardboard enclosure for your PC speakers and put a layer of sound deadening in them, then try a layer of bubble wrap and listen to the difference from both front and rear, the results should speak for themselves.
Sound deadening material is dence and heavy for a reason (So am I sometimes). At 3.32 kg/m2 and only 1.78mm thick (a credit card is 1.72mm) that is dence while bubble wrap would be measured in grams.
Is the Dynamat worth the cost? Ask your local dealer if you can check the before and after of their next customer, you will need to make the time as they are running a buisness and don't want to have cars in for work and waiting for you to visit. Hopefully you can make your own decision from there.

Bubble wrap is absolutely NO substitute.

There are alternatives tho.

G-spot's Serenity and Serenity Max do a great job for somewhat less.
Brown Bread is good but is less effective in hot weather than Dynamat.

There are sound deadening sheets which whilst soft work quite well that go in the doors of Calais etc from your Holden dealer that is also quite effective.

IMO tho the Dynamat Extreme is Da Biz and worth the cost in a quality system.
Freighting something that heavy across the Pacific has a price, sadly....

Stinger Road Kill is also good

please, no bubble wrap. *shudder* If you did want some padding like that, go buy some thin sheet foam. its good to stop rattles/vibrations and to 'firm up' the door trims.

Id recommend G-Spot sheets and paint as a mildy priced alternative to Dynamat. However, your cheapest options would be Brown Bread or Flashtac.

but u tend to get what u pay for with deadening.

LOL @ egg cartons. turn ur car into a cheapass recording studio
that kind of thing is for a quite diferent purpose tho :?
