Hi all,

Quick question. Its not specific to an Astina, 323 or Mazda 3, but the Mazda 6 and 3 both run MZR engines.

Im looking at purchasing a Mazda 6 and have found a nice 2002 Classic 5 speed with 880000km on the clock. Seller wants $13500 but I reckon I can get that price down to $12000. The way I see it thats a nice car for not a lot of money.

So I need to know do the MZR engines use a timing belt or chain ? If its a belt I will need to factor this into the purchase costs. Having to spend $300 to $400 bucks on a replacement belt is something I can use to get the price down.

Thanks
Nigel

It's deceptive bro. 3rd gear roll-ons are extremely good... Not good for license holding though..
