i drop them in but they just appear infront of the castle beating on the gate

to convert the men, you need to let them fall straight down, but you can only convert them oonce you've bought the temple

to kill the giants you need to use the sorcerers - get enough and you'll get an eye thing that you can nuke them with.

or click on the men you convert and blow them up!
