Hey guys

I was wondering if there one available for the BJ1? I recently contacted motsons and they told me there is only a whiteline rear sway bar available....but yet alot of you fellas have the front as well....or are they for BJII only?...surely they would fit BJI as well?

Contact wojtek@whiteline.com.au
and ask him if that SP20 BJ2 one will fit a BJ1.

There are differences between the 2 models in the front end such that for eg there is a caster kit for BJ1 but not BJ2.

But, strikes me that is likely to be common across the top of the struts, bolt pattern etc. But ask, IMO...

Be aware the strut brace for BJ2 SP20 is VERY new and won't be on a catalogue. Is called KSB622, I have the only one thus far....

That part number is visible on Whiteline's online store.

There is another KSB622 in utero at the moment... FOR ME!!!!

And then there were two...

Recieved the strut brace this afternoon. Will take some fiddling to find a new way to support the A/C lines around the drivers side strut tower. The bracketry is different between 1.8 and 2.0L versions.

Curious to feel the effects of fitment.

Got a couple of hundred km's under the belt (along with some bedding hassles with RB156 brake pads but that is a whole 'nother story...)

Comments? The brace has tightened everything up. Note that I am going from no previous brace unlike the SP20 brethren. The effects of the brace are most noticeable when cornering and bump loading the outside front. Previously it all felt a bit mushy (comparatively speaking) now you can feel the wheel working not the body. Turn in feels better but that might just be a placebo effect.

Did I mention that the brace looks pretty damn good as well. $199 from Bursons too.

Good stuff, SFC01.

Yeah, had to do a bit of re-routing around the driver's strut tower on mine too.

But a schmick thing for what it does/how it looks for the $$.

there wouldnt be a noticeable increase unless you're really going hard

but the upside to the bar is you can sell the old bar to a non-sp20 owner :D

There sure was a difference going from no bar to a bar though!!
With base spec you get to appreciate your mods all the more. :?

and the White line strut brace looks heaps sexier than the SP20 stockie.

I think the strut brace makes a bigger difference than the rear sway. IMHO

yes from no bar to having a bar will make a difference. in my civic i used to go through a regular corner at about 60kph with tire squeel. after bar installed, same corner 70kph without squeel.

but there is a way to adjust the stock sp20 bar for better performance. put it on and tighten the drivers side nuts as tight as you can. then get a friend to put as much weight as possible on to the bar and tighten the passenger side. doing this will make bar a lot stiffer and takes out alot of it's flex.

yeah but he has a 1.8!!
i'd heard mention of requiring about 3mm of spacers!

just get a plank of wood and see how high above the IM a bar would have to sit, then you can start looking at your options

haha, wheres the give ya self an upper cut smiley??

twilightprotege

i'd say an sp20 bar would more than likely fit over the IM

Gotta be careful pre-loading a strut brace. Wouldn't do to go into a corner hot and SHPLING the brace buckles. Probably give you a hell of a fright and make contact with all sorts of bits that it isn't meant to. *Shouldn't* kill you either**
