Hey all. I decided that for the purposes of documentation, and selling reasons for my bikes, and for humor purposes I wanted to invest in a video camera, one that was somewhat cheap but still better than the video function on my digital camera.

I had a look around at all the eBay flash based video cameras and noticed a distinct lack of features for the price, no optical zoom, and most only capable of 20-30fps at only low VGA quality.

So I ponied up the small cash of $250 and bought a base model samsung VP-MX20

I'll write a full review when It arrives for anyone else looking for a base model digital video camera. The online tests seem to be quite impressive for the specs and price and anyone looking for a dirt cheap means of recording things.

total cost $350, which included the camera kit, spare battery, bag, and a 4 gig SD card. Would have gone 16gig but I'm not in the need for hours and hours of continuous recording YET.

stay tuned! or anyone else that has something similar please post your ideas and experiences.

Damn, that's cheap. I'd be interested to see what the quality is like

Heres some youtubes to show the various tests on the mx20. note youtube does lower quality SOMEWHAT but not alot.

Zoom test, lots of these on there, VERY impressive for a cheap camera I must say. The eBay ones only have digital zoom, and like 8x at that, this thing has a nice 35x from the schneider lense

If you want a general idea, watch the airplane link, the interval one, and the zoom test. my advice to half these people. USE A DAMN TRIPOD.
