Hi Motegi - welcome to the boards!

Whilst its not my 'cup of tea' I have to applaude your efforts and certainly the presentation is top notch. :)

Most certainly!

There's members here from all over the place - Europe, South Africa, New Zulund (couldn't help myself), Saudi Arabia and the US (though not many).

The more the merrier I say! :D

Ah Dan, as was pointed out, we are all one big Mazda community.....

Even if I have to say that the BA Astina is a much more stylish car, that is my opinion :D

*dodges and ducks the slings and arrows*

The work on this Mazda is amazing, and it is just another form to show us what can be done with our cars given Bravery and Commitment (to an asylum???).

We have airbrush work like motegi (welcome, and great to see you joined in the fun!) and Spiderman........ and then we have the bodykit work like our Odd Rod, to subtle injection of Critter and sleek Sik Mik... not forgetting our Dan aka Rupewrecht and his gracious hardtop.

You will be pleased to note Dan, that when I posted a pic of my BA on the other forum, it was the one taken on Mt Ainslie with your Passion Rose next to mine... although you can only see part of the rear end, everyone has commented on your "ride"...... BAH!!!! *pokes Dan's eyes out*

I love to see individual work, and uniqueness......

I am still torn between doing my car a "violent crumble" purple exterior and honeycombe interior

or

musk pink with creamy leather interior.... like a cross between Barbie and Marcia Brady!

But the back end is gonna be....

Well thanks again for the welcome. you all seem pretty laid back around here. I mod some of the other mazda forums and it can get pretty bad over there. Nice to have some where to come to where you can relax and not have to worry about peoples petty crap. Im going to have to learn the Aussie lingo I suppose so I can understand what you all are talking about.

The car itself was stripped (as you can see on the 2nd page of my site) and entirely repainted. The guy that did the airbrush work couldnt have done a better job bringing alive the idea I had in my head. At first I wasnt sure that I liked what he did because I didnt want it to be that prominent but then I fell in love. Now its time for me to start working on the interior. Im sick of sitting in a car that looks good outside but not inside.

great job motegi, although i wouldn't do it on my ride, it looks great, it has that "looks like it's moving really fast while still stationary" look about it.

i wonder why aussie aren't into air bushing, only airbushing on cars I've seen r at the auto salon or any other car shows, never actually see them out in the street.

so motegi, since you're from florida, tell us about the car scene there, is it just like in 2f2f?? hehe

Rupewrecht

you don't see airbrushing on that many street cars simply because it gets damaged 9stonechips etc) too easily. often street-driven showcars have separate bonnets/front bars/etc and have then fitted for daily driving.

the aus car scene is moving away from airbrushing to more the jap-racer look these days it seems - carbonfibre bonnets, volk wheels and gt wings

I cant get into GT wings and racing style wheels. alot of the thin spoked designs lack somewhat in the style department. i liked my previous set of thin spoked wheels however im glad fate put me back with a more stylized (although somewhat heavier) wheel

cheers mike

woah i turned another convo into one about wheels! lol

oops, disregard and get back ontrack with the aibrush convo mike!

motegi: it looks really good i think. is the car a daily driver or is it a weekend mobile??

cheers mike

Oh shes a daily driver :p

lol. 2F2f! My friends were in that movie! lol. Its not all like that around here. In fact the people who are really into tuning their cars hate that movie because it gave us all such a bad wrap. Every time I get pulled over or see a cop they are like oh its one of those fast and the furious cars! I laugh and say nooo those cars are covered in vinyl. I dont mess with that stuff. Most of the cops in the town I work in have watched my car go from stock to aluminum wing and altezzas to what it is today. I get stopped all the time by people asking me how much the paint job was, who did it, some give me compliments others tell me I have balls for doing it. Im like eh. If I dont like it I can always strip it and have it redone. Its not permanent. :)
