modern warfare 2 ISSUES

ok ok... so i bring home modern warfare 2 today...

put it in my 360 and bam... unreadable disc error...

im like wtf?... and it tells me 2 clean it and restart the console...

I do this even though it a brand new game and is flawless...

I place a different game in and have no issues...

I take the game back and get it exchanged for another copy...

Get home and same problem... I hook it up online figuring mayb it needs some sorta update...

all updates installed and still... unreadable disc error... it doesnt get anywhere near 2 starting the game...

called them up and they placed my first copy in their xbox... works fine...

placed current copy into a mate xbox at his place... works fine...

WTF?... all my games work effortlessly but this one is screwed...

advice?:(:(:(:(

call up microsoft, tell them o the problem, perhaps certain brands of lasers that they use have issues with this type of disc for some reason (they prob have about 2-3 different brand lasers)
that sucks but man :(

Its not the lasers IIRC, one of the drive types is rather crappy. It has trouble reading the second layer IIRC.

I guess in a way its lasers anyways...

Had a guy come in yesterday with the same issue but it turned out to be the ring of confidence (big circle scratched into the disc from moving the console while it is loading) and told him there was nothing we could do.

I haven't even played single player yet, the multiplayer is SO addictive! Taken my focus off uncharted 2 though.

easy solution, get a pc or ps3 :P and L4D2 on pc can be hacked to have full gore despite the crappy censorship :D

my brother did it, and to my understanding it does not effect steam.. (he might be running it withuot steam?) but he was playing online. ill ask him how he did it when he gets home :P

There currently is no issue, however steam may release a patch at a later date.

I bought this for PC a while back now but I wish I saved my $99 just hate no dedicated servers the pings are only just playable at times.

My opinion on the some shooter releases recently:

Metro 2033 is awesome for story, creativeness and polish. you have to pump up your pneumatic guns every time you want to shoot, charge the batteries in you NVGs, and sneak your way through intense and thrilling levels.

Bad Company 2 is good for story and "wow whered that building go"-factor. great graphics. great guns. great characters. great fun.

Modern Warfare 2 is a great arcade MP shooter. will stand the test of time, but its not all about realism. after 2nd prestige gets kinda boring too!

Bioshock 2 is a fantastically original sci-fi horror shooter-RPG. a great game for the price - like Metro 2033 (if you like something with more finesse and ingenuity than run and gun).

Just Cause 2 (which i havent played much of yet XD) is a great freeroaming, action shooter, where you live and die by your grappling hook. allows great freedom in what you can do, but lacks finesse and EA/Ubisoft/IW quality.

if you want an idea of what to spend ur hard earned bucks on/want more of an idea about the game before you splurge, im ur man!
