Well, it's been a short, quiet stay for me, but the site has been pretty informative. But now I'll be departing because of my newest purchase. Nobody else here seemed to own a 89-93 Astina anyhow. :P
I've bought me what you see below (I think someone else here did the same minus the hairdryer), provided it passes an inspection on Monday. A whole weekend to wait.. argh! :)

That does look very nice, i like the conservative wheels. Makes it appear to be a bit of a sleeper. Hopefully that turbo will makes things interesting for you. Good luck mate!!
It looks like a swell ride!

Looks good.
Hope you have a lot of fun with it.
The similarities between the engines would love
you to hang around and share experiences.

Nice car. Handling isn't quite as good as the BA astina, but yeah. Have some fun with that MX-5. Perhaps it'll be better for picking up chicks?[/color:post_uid0]

Awesome car. Handling is unreal, u'll have a great time blasting down twisiting roads. The car is just really neutral. I wanted one, but its to small for me! Literally, i can barely get in, but im a big bloke.
Its turboed is it!? Any power figure? How many kms and how much? It looks excellent condition, obviously been looked after, and nice wheels, ride height etc!
Cant believe u ditched us tho..... theres a few of us 89-94s on here! How much u sell it for? (Did u vote in the what model astina poll!?)

I didn't get a whole lot on tradein for the Astina. I really couldn't be bothered trying to sell it private and I had put a dent in a door - which would have meant fixing that too. That coupled with 203,000KM's on the clock and it would have been quite difficult to sell in time because I needed the money from selling it to buy the MX-5. The car was bulletproof though - the most I had to do to it was change the waterpump (and what a bitch that was).
Anyway - it's a 94 MX-5 with a WRX turbo. No intercooler, but it has an alarm, 52k on the clock (yep, 52k on a 94 model), white-backed dials, chrome shifter and handbrake (visible in the other photos in the index), service history, hard AND soft tops, aftermarket alloy wheels and an interior that is in the best condition I've seen yet.
I'll stick around but I'll become more of a lurker unless a thread regarding my family of Astina pops up. And of course I'll give a decent comparison between the Astina and the MX-5.
Estimated power is at least 125KW at the flywheel. No intercooler means it'd probably be on around 6psi tops I'll get an intercooler eventually but first off the rank is going to be one of those JVC MP3 headunits. The sleeper image will be important so if I get a FMIC I'll do what I can to hide its presence.
