Well after a traumatic event of early november, where the side of my beloved nova found the front end of a ford [bloody ford] i have been carless. that is until today.

I am the very proud owner of a white 93 Astina, and although it may have not been the sp which i had hoped for, it is still the best car i've ever driven.

Its pretty stock apart from the fact that is has six pointed star alloys and some pioneer 6x9" speakers in the rear tray. Maybe a new rear window sticker would enhance it, say "astinaGT.com"

However i do have one question. the pop up lights slam shut very loud and almost violently when i turn the lights off. does anyone know how to, or have any ideas of how to stop this from happening? im scared that it'll shatter the globes

Nice work on buying an Astina! We can't bag out too much of Ford, they do own however much of Mazda...As for the headlights: Geez it'd have to be pretty violent to do that... mine's quite loud when it closes, but I do have the SP. Maybe that's another part of the SP pack, quieter headlights :P

I don't quite know how you'd make it more gentle, but I can tell you that mine have copped quite a lot of work and I haven't had any trouble... they've even been driven into the front of a) a shop and b) A wheelie bin at 80 km/h and both times come out in one piece. And then you've got to think of me (in true Homer style): Lights go up, lights go down, lights go up, lights go down *repeat ad nauseum*

And I can recommend the AstinaGT.com sticker, makes them at least 10kw+

Thanks for the reasureance JJs. I was thinking about putting a small rubber strip on the top or bottom to cushion the impact, but im not sure if i'll worry after ur words of wisdom. as for the cruise, will have to see as family holiday is over the same period.

no kitty you're wrong. for your stock astina that doesnt make an impression, people arent going to notice it on the from as you drive past in the opposite direction :p

hence it's better on the rear as you can drive past people (at the speed limit in the lane next to them) and they can see the sticker until they work out what it is.
