everyone knows about Tonys turbo conversion.
but what happened to tonys old engine??

well my mate put it into his 323 and it was a great little car.
but last weekend someone decided that they would set his wheelie bin on fire, and as a result the car also caught fire.
heres the remains of his car, and Tonys old engine.

Damn, that's take a whole lot of rebuilding!

Yeah, the top few images are "Temporarily Unavailable".

Hope they catch the pricks and roast their balls over a nice hot Astina exhaust.

Chances are the dickheads knew that the car would go up as well. It probably was the target not the wheelie bin.

Sorry to hear about your mazda, I'll say a prayer for it tonight.

G'day everone

First timer on AstinaGT, I would of hoped to join under a more positive circumstance.

That's our awesome little 323 that was damaged on the weekend.

It really was a distressing way to come home to find some f@#kwit had nothing else better to do than try and blow up wheelie bins. (One of the neighbours had theirs done aswell, about a 1000th of the damage that we suffered.)

Tony,
I'm sure you a little pissed off aswell. It was a good engine, ran sweet, sounded good as you know. Thanks.

Thanks for everyones thoughts, but the cost of rebuilding is gonna be to great me thinks. I will start selling good bits off and will probably start a post in the 'for sale' section aswell.

Any way we are already looking for another. Looking for a Astina 92/3 ish with the Twin Cam option ticked.

Any one have a good SP for sale drop me a line

Cheers
Adam

Would like to be under better circumstances but welcome to AstinaGT to Chewy and Macgyver.
Well I guess that is number three (we may need to start a support group soon). The type of people who do this usualy are too stupid not to get caught eventualy and sometimes by the police.

Well the car was not insured so what ever we spend on a new car comes out of our house saving fund. Hence the 91/2/3 models.

The other reason why we want an Astina of the same vintage as the 323 is so we can put the wheels on it (brand new ROH's fitted on Christmas Day!), rear shocks and possibly exhaust.

Can you get twin cam non-SP Astinas or are they all just SOHC's?

Thanks
Adam.

Welcome chewy. The car I had up for sale was a SOHC, and it's sold yesterday, so that's out. As far as I'm aware, unless they've done an engine swap, a non-sp is always SOHC.

Sorry to bring an old thread back, but the 323 that was burned out, was it originally a 1.6 carby or 1.8 EFI??
