Just happened to stumble across this. Thought it might be of use for someone in NZ?

Sub box built for soundcar, very solid construction all 30mm mdf, 20Kg with no sub! Specifically designed for Mazda Astina/Lantis 94-99 hatchback. Previously housed Alpine 12" DD Drive sub. You will not find a more solid box. Before you ask any questions, this will not fit any other car except the above. Construction photos available if requested.

I should reinforce that this isn't mine, but I thought it may be of use.

30mm is ideal for a box, however it doesn't look like it is sealed on the back, looks like it just fits against the plastic sidewall? If thats the case then 30mm is a bit of overkill as the plastic sidewall will flex long before even 15mm would!

I was tempted to get it for myself, but its not ported (looks sealed) and the volume inside it would be way to small for my vega anyway :-/

For that price (remember its in $NZ) its a good buy and would be great for someone just setting up.

It's also too heavy to ship to Australia, would cost a fortune!!!

I liked Deon's sub, but couldn't afford all the rest of the eclipse gear with it, I would just want the sub box and the doof doof.....

ah well......
