I have certain 'plans' for my Lantis which involce 8" wide 18's with 235 tyres so I'm going to have to make some flared guards and put spacers on... 8)

I want it to look like the wide body 'black widow II' kit, so you get the idea.

Has anyone actually got flared guards on their BA or am I going to have to do some "creative work" with Mr Polystirene, Mrs Knife and their son Sandpaper Jr??

If what I'm doing in terms of bodywork actually works then I will post a "how to..." with lots of pics :)

hehe i love the analogy! there was EZZY who had a go at a widebody kit. it looked dodgy in my opinion although he did have 19 x 8 wheels on there

Haha, I dont want the ass of my car to be THAT wide! Just about an inch on each guard...

Like the one below...

in that case, i reckon what you want is some 4x4 flares!

seriously it'd be easy to find some of the correct shape, and they'd be readily available

Could you not pump the guard slightly? Or even go to the trouble of buying a new guard and performing a bit of a "cut and bump" out making it look a bit more factory?

IMO it would look a bit Torana SLR5000ish sort of like the EZZY MK2 car.. I was not that keen on the "widebody" look of the re-invented EZZY either i must say..

Oh.. BTW.. did you end up whacking that KLZE engine in mate?

Yeah, got to explore the options! I'd rather make a fibreglass guard flare then try my luck at pannel beating!!!

In terms of the 2.5, I got as far as the bank telling me they wouldn't give me any more money so I'm trying to pay off as much debt as possible (should be payed off in 5 months) and then start on my conversion... Although it won't be any ordenary 2.5 conversion...

I'd throw my vote into a box flaring type of thing... essentiall swell out the sides of the car rather than justt he arches.
