So ive finally got around to getting my self a donor car. i was originally just going to go to a wreckers and buy a BP DOHC (which i got quoted $650 for), but instead i hit the auctions.
I went down to pickles at salisbury plains yesterday and found myself a wrecked 1990 BG SP, with a BP DOHC, power windows and sunroof.
I ended up paying $150 for it :D so i was pretty happy with that !
Including towing it home and administration charges, it ended up costing me $266.
They call this "Written Off"

All the power options work, the timing belt was done 6000km ago, has a new radiator, gearbox, and possibly clutch.
Im going to swap the power windows out, the seat, the engine and gearbox and the radiator into my car XD.
let me know what you guys think :D

If that's a write-off, my car must be completely destroyed :p

power window conversion completed :D
@mkid- im gonna do the tappets because they are pretty noisey, but i needa run some checks first and make sure nothing else needs doing, because my SOHC is about to bite the dust, i needa swap it over ASAP.

if its bent the chassis its usually written off, but also depends if its considered a repairable write off or not

a/c vents...provided you dont need them that is....mainly the side ones...
the BG BP tappets are non adjustable ive been told
but still get the valves done and a new head gasket
perhaps a water pump as well to be on the safe side
then you should have a sweet running BP :D

got both engines out not last wednesday but the one before, then i had the BP in my car on the thursday, but i snapped a bolt off in the water pump, so i had to take the timing belt off, take the pump off and take it to the mechanics where i work sometimes and get them to get the bolt out. i had to reset the timing and everything !
I got it going by the monday :)

i think you guys have converted me. this cannon is really starting to piss me off now. the constant drone is so damn annoying. im looking at an xforce muffler with a twin tip on it to replace it, thoughts?

that should give you a nice sound with out the drone. my rexy has a twin tip muffler rexy burbles sweet and i dont have any drone like my brother does with his cannon. plus they draw a little less attention from our friends in blue and white
