Yeah there from Dan :P good man to deal with :D. Personaly I love them, but I've had a mixed response lol some ppl are like why didn't you go bigger. But meh I think they suit.

The plates came with the car so I'm just leaving them on lol.

Plans for the next few weeks. Install my exhaust (also from Dan :P ) and get some springs, also eying off a CAI for sale on these forums and a autoexe front lip (marcs fault :P)

So it's a sad time. I've had the car just over a month and I've managed to swing it into a tree (the only tree in my mates front yard -_-)

I kinda pushed out the major dint but it's all crumpled now

It is much easier to just replace the door than get it repaired. Most repairers will use bog to fix it then smooth it out before painting which in my opinion adds more weight and possible future issues. Any good wreckers should have some for around $100 - $150 and probably in the same colour too. All you have to do is swap in the parts from your door (lock, glass, electrics, etc...) and your good to go.

Cheers Jarrod

Rupewrecht
28-12-2010, 06:37 PM
Yeah, much better off with a swap. Even replacing it with a different color and getting that sprayed would be about the same cost, and then you've got a good door/quality repair that isn't going to have bog shrink and fall out of it over time.

Yeah it's quite a drive. But it's enjoyable.

Dan do you have any links in Sydney with wreckers??

Nah not really - down here moreso. There's a list of wreckers in the Forced Induction section though.

the mouldings are easy to rip off but the hard part is getting the glue off.

I pulled off the door mouldings and the glue took half the paint with it. Seems they are not all made equal. So respray is on the cards now, sigh.

A.E
21-01-2011, 07:19 PM
You should of heated the strips first. That glue can be a pain. Kinda the same as the door seals I've done at work. Pain to get off have to use a caramel wheel.

In other news I've got the exhaust on :D

You should pull the silencer out - it seemed to make bugger-all difference LOL

marcs_sp20
21-01-2011, 10:17 PM
Was going to say arent they restricted to 95Db?

Looks good mate, good to see that exhaust finally went to a good home ;)

Rupewrecht
21-01-2011, 10:18 PM
Yeah there's a 96dB sticker on the muffler, but i never knew whether it was with or without silencer. At least the silencer you've got is an adjustable one.

A.E
22-01-2011, 08:53 AM
I'll play around with it tonight. So on full throttle it's still won't go over 96db??
My Capri was 97db on idle. Lol we tested it at Tafe.

Rupewrecht
22-01-2011, 01:13 PM
Not 100% on whether it's 96db with or without the silencer

A.E
27-01-2011, 01:02 PM
So fixed my clerance problem today. Through in a longer hanger. No more rubbing on the bumper. :D

You should of heated the strips first.

Parked it in the sun on a 36 degree day, thought that'd do it :(

Looks like there's just that one allen bolt holding in the silencer (the vertical one) should pull out if you remove it I'd say.
