quick q on turn cancel thingy

hi,

my turn indicator cancel thingy hasnt been working recently, so ive got the steering column apart fixing it.

can someone tell me tho, coz its not clear in the wrkshop manual, which way should the 'arms' on the cancel sleeve go when the wheels are straight ahead ?

ie, the cancel sleeve is a cylindrical sleeve with a bit jutting out on each side.

should they stick out right/left or up/down or some other way ?

The pins on the sleave fit into holes on the wheel, I've sent pics with wheel removed and straight ahead

i dont think i have pins or holes. Momo hub, and the pins have snapped off the cancel shaft :(

in the pics it looks like they face up/down. is that correct ?

The pins are verticle, I'll throw a boss in the car and if I see you tomorrow you can have a look
