ok i am going to have a go at doing some fancy stuff with the air con vents and dash surrounds etc. Basically using mr spray can i want to paint some black plastic bits silver. As far as i can tell the correct way to do this is to sand, degrease, prime, degrease, paint, sand, degrease and finally finish coat. (probably a bit overboard with the degrease but i want it to come up looking good) Any suggestions or helpful tips / tricks??

well im sure i would not go anywhere near it with degreaser[ wax an grease remover is wat u use ]

well pull the parts off give a good scrub with hot soapy water an a soft scowra [not sanding] rinse with fresh water allow to dry

spray with a special plastic primmer if the plastic bits have any flex u have to add a flex agent [to all coats]

now spray with ur colour assuming its a plain colour [sum metalics require a base coat then top coat then clear all must have flex agent in them]

all this is in acrylic as 2pak takes a lot longer to dry there 4 u really need a booth or ull have to much dust in it

if u use a base colour u dont need a clear ,although it would give u a sharper finish an protect the colour

personnelly im not a fan off just using a pressure pak can as no 2 cans r the same [maybe close enough] and u have no control over the mix rate
as per paint verses thinners

if you have ur can warm when painting it will come out shinnier
