still undecided what to buy but i have narrowed it down to 2 sets, of which rupe has both currently.

basically i got 2 new tyres on my current rims and they left them on the rear... so i took it back today and i told my mate (who works at the desk) and he couldnt believe it. so he took me and found who had done it and asked why etc.. they told us that one of the rims was buckled and that i wouldnt notice it so much on the rear. the look on my mates face was hilarious...well far from it. he couldnt believe it and neither could I. sorta wished i hadnt bought the new tyres now, knowing that i either fork out $100 for repair on rims which are scratched and not really my style, or get new ones and try again... SO i told them to put them back on the front like they should be and ill see how it feels. bloody pot holes around here!!!

my questions are: how heavy are the rims, how strong are they -id imagine that the higher tyre profile would help alot, and if anyone has pics of either rim on a hardtop in my colour... cheers :)

Steve (gtarone) had MS-01 on his hardtop. And I had MS-01R on my hatch.

MS touring look very similar to what you have now.

MS-01 can come in either 15x6.5 or 15x7. 15x7 would be my pick. Can fit 205/50R15s then.

Touring only comes in 15x6.5 for 15in versions.

Rupe would be the best to ask about weights. He loved climbing under his house to pull stuff out. :p

My old MS-01Rs weighed 7kg flat. Strong rims as they are not really designed as lightweights.

is .5 of an inch matter that much, i think i like the touring ones best but ill look into tyre sizes/pricing before getting myself into the problem ive had with the current odd sizing (having 45 profile would have been alot easier/cheaper it turns out!)

The MS-01Rs are about 7kg as Ryan said. The MS Touring are a lighter rim than that, but i can't remember by now much...i think between 6-6.5kg.

He loved climbing under his house to pull stuff out. :p

And i've got a large shed now :p lol

15x6.5 will fit 195/55R15 tyres
15x7.0 will fit 205/50R15 tyres - hence my preferred choice. (you'll find these tyres cheaper also).

If dish is something you are into, the MS-01 in 15x7 has slightly more dish than the MS-01R 15x7.

I'm also gonna be fitting my tyres up to my new rims, so it you wanna the what 15x7+36 205/50R15 combo will look like on your can, you are more than welcome to come and test fit.

Just weighed a MS Touring, and they're between 6.5 and 7 on my crappy old scales.

fudge you guys make this difficult! went for a drive on the fwy and its tracking fine like it always has and theres a little vibration at 100km/hr but not enough to be able to see it in the wheel... which is good i suppose... now for the hard decision. anyone good at photoshop for the touring rims?
